Much needed Bite to Eat!!

Anna-Rica M,
Can't rate the staff in this establishment highly enough-we called in on boxing day & we were having issues with a family member meltdown and they were very attentive, and understanding. Meals are substantial hearty and delicious. Designated dog friendly area, fabulous views, spacious with a comfy feel. Will definitely visit again.

Christmas Day lunch

David J S,
We were enjoying our first Christmas break in Northumberland and decided to treat ourselves for Christmas lunch. We were not disappointed. A little concerning was the car park was full on our arrival and with 3 dogs in the car, that was a big worry! But, we spotted there was just enough room for us to park down an entry near some tables outside of the pub. The place was very nice. Good service, nice table with vies over the harbour, what more could you ask? The place was busy, but not too full and I must admit we did enjoy the carvery Christmas lunch. It was good value for Christmas Day and made a very pleasant visit. We were staying about 24 miles away, a journey which took just under 45 minutes, which on a lovely day was a very pleasant drive. Our whole trip was relaxing and lovely, our Christmas Day lunch was very good and not bad value really.

Northumbrian charm

Went here for Sunday lunch, as it's dog friendly. The carvery was superb; meat beautifully roasted, Yorkshire puddings definitely not made by Aunt Bessie, and a great veg selection, all served on a hot dinner plate. We paid £9.95 each; I consider this to be the going rate for a Sunday carvery, taking into consideration the quality of the food on offer. Drinks are not cheap - £4.45 for a pint of Guinness (which himself assures me is 'London prices') and £6.75 for a large dry white wine and soda. None of this bothers me - I was utterly content with the delicious food, the relaxed atmosphere and the efficient, friendly staff; so much so that, following a shopping trip in Seahouses the next day, we called in for a small libation before returning to our holiday cottage in Bamburgh to get the fire going! We will eat here again.

Delicious !

Called in for dinner after day out in the area. Lovely pub, waitresses friendly . Food delicious especially the pork with haggis which was outstanding . Baileys Creme Brûlée a disappointment as very small and no taste of Baileys whatsoever but saying that custard was tasty and shortbread good - would have said more like plain Creme brûlée . Would recommend and will return when next in area.

Ever feel like you have been cheated?

Let me get started with the positives. The food was very tasty and the pub is lovely. Good views and dog friendly so perfect for a place to visit in Seahouses. However. My quibble is price. Went to the Sunday Carvery. At £10 for the adult plate it was not cheap, but more annoyingly 2 friends ordered the child plate and after measuring the plate the usable area of the two plates was pretty much identical for 2 pounds less. Even more concerningly the vegetarian option is the same price as the childs plate. I couldnt help but feel id been a little conned in this. My meal was nice and had i not seen the childs plate id probably have walked away happy...

Bamburgh Castle Inn replied: Thank you for leaving this review, did you tell some one about this? We would have happily change this for you. Also was there a difference in the portion of meat that you received? Please do come back and give us another try.
