Roman Wall Tour

Sharon W,
Kevin is amazing. His knowledge, professional approach and hospitality wonderful. Bringing history to life for our 10 year old girl. He even brought mince pies and non alcoholic mulled wine. We will definitely book him again!

Wild Dog Outdoors replied: Dear Sharon, I am delighted to hear that you all enjoyed the tour. See you soon for more adventures in Northumberland. Best wishes, Kevin Robson

"Amazing Tour with a Simply Brilliant Tour Guide who was Extremely Knowledgeable"

maximilliantaken99, Ashford, United Kingdom
WOW - Kevin was brilliant he was friendly and approachable and allowed our Dog to come with us. He had a wealth of knowledge and was just simply amazing. Kevin picked us up our hotel and drove us to the tourist sites, this was Hadrian Wall and Vindolanda. His knowledge blew me and my family away he knew all the answers to all my questions and trust me I ask a lot of questions and so do my family! He also told us about the local area, where some of the best places were to eat with a dog as well as nice things to do in Northumberland in general! I would highly recommend him to anyone, with a dog or child he is truly an amazing tour guide! Thanks Kevin - I really enjoyed our time together. Thank you for the chocolate and being kind to George (our dog) P.S: I hope Kevin does not mind me posting a photo of him posing in his historic costume. It goes to show that Kevin goes above and beyond to bring history to life. He brought with him some replica weapons and a shield from Roman period. This was incredibly impressive because it allowed you to actually engage with history.

Wild Dog Outdoors replied: Dear Max, Thank you for your very kind review. It was a pleasure to show you Hadrian's Wall and Vindolanda. You all had some great questions. I look forward to showing you the Castles of the Coast when you return to Northumberland. Best wishes, Kevin Robson

Excellent tour of Hadrian's Wall

Alex G,
This was an extremely fun way to learn about the history, culture and geography of Northumberland. Kevin is knowledgeable, friendly, adaptable and very experienced. An extremely good guide on an extremely good tour. I only wish all children were taught this way - history really comes alive when you can see it in front of you. Highly recommended!

Wild Dog Outdoors replied: Dear Alex, Thank you for your lovely review. We enjoyed a very nice day on Hadrian's Wall. The weather was great for December. Enjoy the rest of your trip. Best wishes, Kevin Robson

A perfect way to enjoy a beautiful part of the country

FriedMadDog,
Wild Dog Outdoors is an absolute must for anyone wanting to explore Hadrians Wall. We spent Saturday morning with Kevin who's extensive knowledge of the area and enthusiasm for the subject shone through on a very foggy day. The tours started with Kevin in period costume complete with sword and armour. We then preceded to head up to the wall, finally finishing with a guided tour of Vindolanda. The morning gave us an in-depth insight into the history of the area, knowledge we found ourselves recounting on our subsequent visit to Housesteads. We'll definitely book further tours with Wild Dog Outdoors as they enhance the enjoyment of a great part of the UK. Simon, Sarah Dec '17

Knowledgeable and accessible - highly recommended.

Our trip with Kevin was excellent. He tailored it to suit us (our particular request was to take in the Mithraic Temple at Brocolitia), and his knowledge of the history of the site and general area is encyclopaedic, but he has the ability to put it across in a very accessible way. A particular highlight was feeling the difference between the Celtic sword and the Roman gladius (he brought replicas with him), illustrating the difference in the 2 cultures. We visited several sites on our own after our trip with him, and enjoyed them much more because of our experience with him. And his recommendation to visit Aydon Castle on our last day was spot on - it hadn't featured at all in our planning (clearly Google has its limits), but was wonderful.

Wild Dog Outdoors replied: Thank you very much for taking the time to write such a lovely review. I am happy to hear that you enjoyed your tour and your visits to other local sites! We hope to welcome you back to Northumberland again in the future! Best wishes, Kevin
