Rosybank is a two storey cottage looking down to a beautiful historic oak tree and the River Tweed. The path to the left goes along beside the former nunnery to Telford's beautiful bridge over the river. Car parking is just outside and the cottage door takes you into a big living-room with comfy settees, looking across to the wall mounted Smart tv The antique table and chairs are made locally. The kitchen area has everything - fridge, separate freezer, full oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, washer and drier. Under the oak stairs is a modern downstairs loo. Up the oak stairs brings you to two great bedrooms (one with super-king and one with king size bed) and each has its own en suite designer wet room with underfloor heating. Front windows look down to the Tweed and across to Cheviots. The rear windows look over a beautiful wooded garden to the town Coldstream is a village for most visitors - only about 1500 people . There is a lockable store for bikes at the back plus table and chairs.
Coldstream used to be home to the famous guards, had a gin distillery (reopening now plus whisky distilling!), and has a super museum just a few metres from Rosybank. Coldstream has a full range of shops including a supermarket, there are a couple of antique shops close to Rosybank and there is a range of eating places all within 5/10 minutes walk. Britain's 1960's Prime Minister, Alec Douglas-Home came from Coldstream and his house has country park, a range of crafts people, and a golf course. Coldstream thinks itself a town but guests think it a village - just about 1800 people live here.

North ten miles brings you to Duns, and the museum about Jim Clark and motor racing while, at Galashiels, you will find the Great Tapestry of Scotland. A few miles down river (lovely walk) brings you to the pretty village of Norham on the English side and Ladykirk on the Scottish side where the Flodden troops worshipped.
