Good location but parking is a problem

Please make sure that the owner provides a parking permit as stated when you book as the parking situation is a nightmare. We thought the cottage was lovely but the parking permit was missing upon our arrival and it would seem that no steps were taken by the owner or the company we booked through (Cottages in Northumberland) to replace it and as a result we parked across the street in Beechcroft. On our last night our car was keyed/ maliciously scraped along the drivers side doors to the tune of a £952.00 dealership repair so DO NOT park your car in the street opposite or you may be upsetting somebody. Upon complaining first to the cottage owner and then in writing to the company it was evident that they could not care less about us or our situation. I will never use this company again and our holiday was ruined and our children left upset. In addition, radiator in upstairs front bedroom did not work. Wooden garden furniture in back yard is rotted and could be a danger to young children. Shower is an electric one and has no power whatsoever. The tv in the kids front bedroom does not work because the ariel socket looks like it needs replacing. Large bed in the front bedroom we thought was uncomfortable and mattress needed replacing. No loyalty to the customer. Happy to take your money off you but when you have a problem such as we did all they kept reiterating was that it had never happened before and that it should be reported to the police, which of course it was. Upon asking to be compensated for not being given a permit I was turned down which I thought was extremely harsh given these circumstances!
Pebble Cottage replied: Hello Mr Barker, Thank you for your review and I appreciate your frustration. As we wrote to you at the time, we were terribly sorry to read about the criminal damage to your car that took place during your visit to Seahouses in October. We were appalled to hear anyone would do such a thing and shocked that this mindless act of vandalism took place in what is a friendly town which welcomes visitors from all over the UK, as well as overseas, all year round. We advised you to report the incident to the police as soon as you’d made contact with us at the end of your holiday because this was a criminal act and as you know, we spoke with the owner who was equally shocked by the incident and unable to help prevent this incident happening. The fact that the property’s parking permit for the main carpark in the village had been removed in error by the previous weeks guests and not reported to us at the time is unfortunate. It seems however that you made your own arrangements to park in a nearby street although the main car park would still have been an option and I’m sure the owner would have been happy to reimburse for you the weeks parking changes had you decided to park there instead. Unfortunately, an act of vandalism, wherever it happens, is completely outside of anyone's control and we as the agent of the property cannot be held responsible for any damage to your car or indeed anyone’s personal possessions during a holiday. We do hope this doesn’t put you off returning to Northumberland in the future. Kind Regards, The Cottages in Northumberland team
Nice house, but not as described
Booked for a Xmas break with the family, as advertised as sleeping 8 (with 2 on a double sofa bed). On arrival, no sofa bed - apparently it broke at the start of the year and the agent hadn't been informed. Eventually a dirty old camp bed was delivered, but in no way suitable or as described. Even the main table was only just big enough for the 6 chairs provided. As a home for 6, this would be a nice little property, but not when advertised as for 8.

Broken blind in bathroom fan not working , double bed mattress very old couldn't sleep on it rolled you about. Chipped plates and mugs no proper settee to sit on was a bed settee very uncomfortable and the old old two seater well didn't even bother you couldn't pull yourself out This is just a few of the problem we had all in all our worst holiday home ever.
