The Garden Apartment is an extension to Fairfield House, a 5 star bed and breakfast guesthouse, and the same high levels of quality have been applied to this open plan studio style apartment. The accommodation has been decorated in a contemporary style, incorporating hardwood flooring and light oak furniture, and comprises twin beds (which can be linked to form a super-king sized bed), a comfortable sitting area with TV & DVD, well equipped kitchenette and wet room style bathroom. Bedding is pure cotton and pillows filled with soft goose down (synthetic pillows available on request).
It has its own decked seating area overlooking the garden. The large terraced garden (shared with B&B residents) is south facing and borders on to fields and woodland - which attracts many wildlife visitors.
Fairfield House is quietly situated on the edge of Warkworth, a picturesque and historic village which forms part of the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. An easy stroll down the hill and over the original 17th century bridge spanning the Coquet River will take you to the centre of the village. Warkworth Castle dominates the village and is well worth a visit. In the village you will find an interesting selection of gift shops and galleries, teashops, pubs and restaurants. There is a lovely walk along the banks of the river and in the summer you can hire a boat to row upstream. There is a beautiful sandy beach, which overlooks the RSPB reserve of Coquet Island, just a pleasant 20 min walk from the house. Warkworth is located seven miles south east of Alnwick (famous for its Castle and the Alnwick Garden) making the Garden Apartment an ideal base from which to explore Northumberland's many attractions … or it can simply be a haven for a restful break.

I can only agree with what everyone else says about this place. It’s just perfect in every way. Stayed for two nights and our room overlooking the garden was lovely, spacious, clean and with everything you could ask for. The bathroom was gorgeous too. My mum stayed in a room overlooking the front and says it is the best hotel room she has ever stayed in! The breakfasts were divine and the garden is beautiful. The whole house is lovely. Everything about the place is first class and I am running out of words to express just how great the place is. Highly recommended and we will definitely be returning.
Our summer trip.
We had 4 days at fairfield in early june. We stayed in the sanderson room, and found it a delight. As other guests have remarked Mandy is a excellent host. My wife is gluten free and Mandy did not dissapoint, supplying her with all the food she required. We have stayed at a lot of Bed and breakfast places. This certainly deserves its 5 stars. You can feel certain Mandy will look after you. Looking forward to the next visit. Mark & Jan T.W

We have walked the British Isle’s Coast to Coast path, West Highland Way, Wicklow Way, Cotswold Way, Hadrian’s Wall and St Oswald’s Way walking between B&B’s each time. We have stayed in some fantastic places, yet Amanda’s Fairfield House is the best of the best. Incredible garden, fantastic breakfast, Amanda is an amazing host who loves hosting guests while the house is perfectly English!
Another memorable visit
This is a fabulous Guesthouse and Mandy Lance is an incredible host. The rooms are beautiful and are superbly equipped with very high quality products in the room/bathroom. The breakfast is something very special with a very large selection to choose from all beautifully presented.
