Fabulous place, ticks all the boxes

Veloist, London
My parents discovered Beacon Hill about 30 years ago and used to go 2 or 3 times a year... and we have just returned from a very enjoyable week in Ash Cottage. It has everything you could want for a holiday without ever leaving the farm. The cottages are beautifully presented and spotlessly clean and the leisure facilities cater for all ages. Even these grown up kids enjoyed camp fires in the woods cooking sausages! The views from the estate are superb and there are some nice walks to do from the door of your cottage (don't miss Meg's Lake). It makes a great base to explore the Northumbrian countryside and Alun and Chris are excellent hosts with a good knowledge of Northumberland. If you're looking for a great place to stay look no further!

Last week of school holiday

F W, Sheffield, United Kingdom
We stayed in the stable cottage for one week on our first visit to Northumbria. Greeted by a bottle of wine and a cake! Observatory and telescope, fire pits in the wood, pool, tennis courts and I even managed a facial at the spa. Wished I had discovered Beacon Hill when the family was younger as idea for younger families- although my teenagers did enjoy too! Loved the area and great for just pedalling out on the country lanes (we took bikes). Planning a return trip. Thank you to the Beacon Hill team. Thank

Superb family holiday cottages

pauldS6529BR, Manchester, United Kingdom
This is the third time we have been as a family over a period of about 10 years - this time we stayed in Elm cottage. The whole place is superb - the accommodation is lovely. Two generous-sized bedrooms, one with en-suite, a family bathroom and a very spacious integrated kitchen, dining room and lounge. The property is very well-equipped from the obvious (hair driers, microwave, two fridges, lots of pots, pans, utensils, plates bowls and glasses) to the small touches that make a difference (tea, coffee, sugar, wash powder, dishwasher tablets, hand soap). Cake and wine as a welcome gift is a nice touch. The views are spectacular all round the site and the facilities excellent - a big (and deep) pool, spa bath, sauna, steam room, laconium, gym - all with plenty of shower and changing facilities. Elsewhere there is a games room, good for kids of all ages, with table football, air hockey, table tennis and pool. All free. Ther is also an indoor climbing/play area for the smaller kids. We also used the tennis court and played croquet on the lawn. We took advantage of the woods and cooked sausages over an open fire before attempting the Harry Potter trail (with mixed success). The spa is good - easy to book and prices are very good. Lastly, we used the observatory as the moon was visible when we were there. Retracting the roof is a bit of an art but we got a very clear if brief view of the surface of the moon. Would thoroughly recommend - Alun and Chris look after their visitors very well and no doubt we will return.

Brilliant family holiday location

KatyM1607,
Superb facilities, plenty of space and fantastic views – what’s not to love? 11 of us (ranging in age from 5 to 70+) enjoyed a wonderful week here in August, despite the weather! We made great use of the swimming pool, tennis court, trampoline, games room …….. We started the Harry Potter trail but sadly ran out of time to complete it – partly because we were just having a great time exploring the woods. The cottages were very spacious with good facilities – the kitchen really did have everything you could want and getting all our food delivered by a famous supermarket made life so easy. And a great location to explore the wonderful area.

Mother and daughters pamper night away.

Caroline E, Tynemouth, United Kingdom
We stayed at Ginfields for a night. The house was clean and very spacious. The bedroom was large and the bed was very comfortable. The views were amazing too. The living area was nice to use too and very relaxing. I loved the decor and furnishings. The house was warm, maybe a little too warm for my Mam. A suggestion of having a fan in the bedroom in the Sumner months would have been helpful. We both enjoyed using Beacon Hill Farm spa both days. This was a real treat. My mam loved the pool and I enjoyed the sauna and steam room. If we stayed longer a walk to the woodland would have been nice and to use the observatory as it was sadly cloudy. I would definitely go back to use this. Chris was a great host and nothing was too much trouble. It was a continental breakfast with delicious pastries and I especially enjoyed trying the local honey. I would recommend the whole place, from the other cottages, hideaways on Beacon Hill Farm and Ginfields next door. Didn't use the beauty room but the staff were friendly and prices were reasonable. I look forward to trying out the hideaways too and would go back for a longer time. Perfect location to see Northumberland. Overall it was the perfect relaxing Mother n daughter mini break we needed, thank you.
