Ponteland is conveniently located at the Gateway to Northumberland and close to the border with Tyne and Wear. Being just a few miles from the A1, makes for quick and easy access to all of Northumberland’s coast and castles. Similarly being just minutes from the A69 and “Military Road” there are a myriad of Roman heritage sites within a short drive. Running through Ponteland village and up over the Scottish Border (less than an hours drive away) the A696 offers a scenic drive over the moors for access to the vast wilderness that is the Northumberland National Park.
Alcedine Lodge is ideal as a base for visiting all of Northumberland’s heritage and the attractions the region has to offer.
