Nice staff but poor choice

We chose a sandwich with chips on the side. There wasn’t a huge choice of non vegetarian food on the menu, far more options for veg meals than regular which isn’t in keeping with the population! I had the chicken bacon mayo sandwich which was mostly mayo with very little flavour of chicken or bacon. Disappointing. Staff very friendly but slow.

Mostly acceptable

Food was almost 90%perfect. We ate at The Boat Inn 3 of 4 nights. First 2 nights great, (3rd a night in) the last night wasn’t exceptional and food was average which was upsetting as we’d eaten the same food we ordered on the first night :( Sean made our evenings with a bubbly personality and a good memory for customers, thank you!

Staff were slow and had poor menu knowledge. The food we had was good but we felt it was a bit pricey . Bonus for us we could take the dog in but we only went in once due to cost

Unsuitable for vegans

We waited til Sunday night to come for dinner as we’d noticed a vegan beet burger and were very excited. That was soon quashed. We ordered. The lady took our money and served our drinks. Then came over to tell us it was ‘pizza night’. Cheese obviously only vegetarian not vegan. No beet burger available. Refunded our food money but no goodwill gesture of refunding drinks too Very disappointing.

Sunday lunch with a view

We visited The Boat Inn a couple of times whilst staying at the lodges on site. Super friendly staff and a couple of good local ales on draught. The excellent soft play area was a pleasant surprise as we were with a toddler. We decided to return for Sunday lunch. Often on site pubs at holiday parks can be a disappointment as they know their audience is captive (here's looking at you Center Parcs), but wow, what a pleasant experience. The staff were super accommodating of the baby, we had a great view and lovely food. We both had a roast dinner which was well cooked with generous portions. Desserts also good. At 35 quid for two courses each and two pints, this was an absolute bargain. We will return when next in the area.
