Fathers day meal

George S,
My wife and I took her father for a Fathers day meal, I wish we had gone elsewhere it was the worst Sunday lunch we have ever had, poor quality catering beef, soggy bland vegetables, tough yorkshire pudding. Only one word to describe it "Terrible". It used to be good when it was a carvery, I should have realised when we entered and saw a lot of empty tables. People vote with there feet.

Poor menu, average food, awful service.

As we were staying for a week at Kielder we planned to dine at the restaurant a few times. However, once was enough. The menu bore little resemblance to what was shown online and was very limited. The food itself was extremely average. Most disappointing of all was the service though. The staff just stood in a group around the bar chatting. I observed at least two other diners (as well as myself) have to approach them for service.

Called in for a quick beer before going to see the osprey watch. Good service and friendly staff. Nice beer too. Food looked good from what I saw and it was quite busy.

Very disappointed in service

Went to the restaurant on our second day but felt the staff were very badly trained and quality of food was very basic. The outlook from restaurant was lovely and could be amazing place to go but found it very noisy and were never asked if we wanted dessert so paid bill and left.

Just Ok

Had a meal here in last night of holiday in one of the lodges. Menu looks Ok and food not too expensive. Pay around £10/11 for a main course. Between us had pizza, chicken pie and chicken goujons. Service was good and it wasn’t too busy. Had nachos to start which were fine. The mains were as described, just not great. My son’s pizza had a bit of a weird taste to it, very little tomato and loads of cheese. The rest were all Ok but plain. Not sure if lack of seasoning but just a bit disappointing for a meal out. Wish we’d driven and tried a local pub instead.
