Organised by the Carham 1018 Society, a re-enactment marking the 1000th anniversary of the Battle of Carham will take place over the weekend of 7th and 8th July.
The battle is believed by many to be the reason that the Scottish border lies where it does. The event takes place on the Holme, a large field next to Carham Church, thought to be the possible site of the battle.
Over the weekend there will be living history displays throughout the day, combat displays leading up to a major battle re-enactment at the end of each afternoon, and music and entertainment. Proceedings begin at 9:30am each day and close to the public at 4:30pm.
