Northumberland, Turner and photography collide in Andrew Gray’s summer exhibition at The Old School Gallery in Alnmouth.
Combining the love of history and mythology, creating abstract and impressionist works using a camera as if it were a brush. Andy uses a technique called Intentional Camera Movement to capture the starting point of his work then combines this with his extensive knowledge of post-processing to create works that bring a unique view of landscapes and landmarks from the North of the UK.
As well as distinctive photographic depictions of our famous landmarks in the county, Andy also use shapes in the landscape captured in camera to create works that form to tell stories of untold histories, mythology and fantasy.
In 2017 Kozu Books published the book “Intentional”, a collection of 46 images by Andy which sold out its entire run just days after release.
