BBC Countyfile magazine names Britain's 10 prettiest fishing villages

Craster in Northumberland has been named as one of the ten prettiest fishing villages in Britain by BBC Countryfile Magazine.

Naming the ten most charming fishing villages across the country, BBC Countryfile Magazine takes into account all the villages have to offer, including restaurants, boats, hotels, museums and harbours, as well as listing some important local history and recommending websites to visit for extra information.

Of Craster, the feature recommends visiting the remains Dunstanburgh Castle, eating at the Jolly Fisherman and taking a fishing trip from the harbour.

Fergus Collins, Editor of BBC Countryfile Magazine, said: “We are drawn to beautiful places that also have a deep sense of purpose and history – and this selection of bustling seaside hubs and harbours are the jewels in our coastal crown.”
