Northumberland Tourism have broken their own record - almost two months ahead of schedule.
Last year, for the first time in the company’s history, their tourist information website visitnorthumberland.com received over 1 million unique visitors, with the millionth visitor logging onto the site on Christmas Day.
This year saw the site hit the 1 million mark on 1st November. With the final Downton Abbey Christmas Special returning to Alnwick Castle this December, the number is set to increase even further.
2015 has featured the popular return of ‘More Tales from Northumberland with Robson Green’, as well as national events such as the Tour of Britain which saw record numbers of visitors to the website for event information, doubling the expected average daily user.

We will continue to market, support and encourage investment into tourism in Northumberland to ensure this trend continues.’
