New facility raises the country profile of Doxford Hall
Due to a significant increase in the demand at Doxford Hall as a base for people shooting in Northumberland, they have built a bespoke, high security, gunroom. The facility which has just been installed enables guests who have come to enjoy shooting on nearby estates to safely bring and store their guns during their stay.
Mark Booth, the General Manager at Doxford Hall, adds: “Shooting is a popular activity in Northumberland and the Borders, with many farms and estates operating successful and popular shoots during the season. Many of our guests have brought guns, in the past, and we have had a gun cabinet to store them. Now I’m pleased to say, we can accommodate them in a fully-fledged gun room, where shotguns can be cleaned by guests and stored after a day’s shoot.”
The gunroom has a distinct sporting feel with decor and furnishings to match the country house feel of the sport.
The hotel also has a number of rooms that are dog-friendly, so guests who have come up to North Northumberland to enjoy shooting can expect luxury treatment for themselves, their dogs and their guns!
