A unique collaboration between
The Grazer and The National Trust
Christmas could come early for some lucky people as tickets go on sale for an exclusive dining experience at one of the north’s most iconic landmarks, Lindisfarne Castle.
Earlier in the summer, food lovers in the North East were able to enjoy some new and unique dining experiences courtesy of a unique collaboration between an entrepreneurial Supperclub provider in Newcastle, Anna Hedworth, and the National Trust. A sell-out series of unique Supperclub events were hosted at two of the region’s premier National Trust sites, Lindisfarne Castle and the Farne Islands.
After the huge success of those ventures, the organisers are now offering three special Christmas supper clubs at Lindisfarne Castle.
The idea is a collaboration between Anna, author of The Grazer food blog, and the National Trust. Anna runs a series of incredibly popular Supperclubs across the North East in locations that vary from wine shops to candle lit shipping containers.
Anna Hedworth of The Grazer says, “Our summer supper clubs at both the Castle and on the Farne Islands were a huge success. They sold out very quickly and were such unique special occasions to be part of, we have had some amazing feedback – everybody loved it. It’s a very special way to enjoy great food in amazing locations. We hope our Christmas events prove just as popular.”
The Christmas Supperclub experience will include having Lindisfarne Castle to yourselves for the evening with welcome drinks and canapés, a tour of the castle, peeking behind the scenes of this beautiful building, taking in the night skies of Northumberland, then sitting down to a unique seasonal four course sharing menu with matching wines.
Claire Ashby, the National Trust’s Visitor Experience Manager for the Northumberland Coast, says, “We are really looking forward to these Christmas supperclub events. Visitors don’t usually get to dine at Lindisfarne Castle so this is a really different way for people to enjoy the castle during the festive period.”
Anna Hedworth continues, “The evening focuses around a specially curated four course sharing meal with matching wines within the historic walls of Lindisfarne Castle. The set menu is both seasonal and local, incorporating potted wood smoked Northumberland game, Lindisfarne oysters, poached local langostines, braised venison with red wine, orange and juniper and smorgasbords of puddings.”
There will be three events with a limited number of 20 places available at each:
Saturday December 14th Lindisfarne Castle
Sunday December 15th Lindisfarne Castle
Monday December 16th Lindisfarne Castle
Tickets for these bespoke dining events are £99 per person and can be booked by phoning Lindisfarne Castle on 01289 389244. Early booking is strongly advisable as spaces are limited. Prices include unique private access to the Lindisfarne Castle , a tour of the castle, food introductions from The Grazer, welcome aperitifs, four courses of fine food, wines to match, digestifs and coffee.
