Muggles invited to experience magical break at Macdonald Linden Hall Hotel

Luxury country house crafts Harry Potter themed package ahead of October Break

Macdonald Linden Hall Hotel, Northumberland, has conjured up an exclusive, spellbinding Harry Potter themed experience ahead of the October school holidays.

Perfect for any muggle, wizard or witch, the overnight break includes a magic treat upon arrival, a chance to try real ‘Butterbeer’ and a trip to the nearby Alnwick Castle – one of the most iconic filming locations from the blockbuster movie series.

As well as exploring Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and experiencing life as a magic student, guests will enjoy flying lessons and re-enact the scene where Harry first takes to the sky on a broomstick and learns the rules of Quidditch in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. Visitors will also view the exact spot where Harry and Ron crash-landed the Weasley family’s flying Ford Anglia, after missing the Hogwarts Express, in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.

After a day of sightseeing, guests can head back to the secluded Macdonald Linden Hall Hotel for a Harry Potter marathon, with the full boxset available upon request to be enjoyed from the comfort of their rooms.

A specially prepared ‘Three Broomsticks’ menu will also be available throughout October.

Marcel Wassen, general manager at Macdonald Linden Hall Hotel said: “We’re lucky enough to be just around the corner from one of the most famous filming locations from the Harry Potter movies.

“By partnering with the historic Alnwick Castle, our team of wizards have been able to wave their wands and craft a truly magical and exciting experience, which the whole family can enjoy.”

Macdonald Linden Hall sits within 450 acres of peaceful private grounds. It boats an impressive 18-hole golf course, award-winning restaurant and onsite spa.

The Harry Potter & Alnwick Castle Family Adventure package is available throughout September and October 2019. It includes an overnight stay with breakfast and access to Alnwick Castle, including up to 15 attractions. It starts from £169.
