Lindisfarne Castle gets dressed for Christmas

The National Trust and Northumberland College at Kirkley Hall have teamed up to give visitors to Lindisfarne Castle a festive treat this December.

The Castle is going to be acting as something of a blank canvas to enable four floristry students to hone their skills as part of an assessment next week. The project will dress the Ship Room, Dining Room and Long Gallery in a traditional style for Christmas, with the addition of the Christmas tree in the Entrance Hall- and the hard work of the students can be enjoyed by visitors to the Castle over the next few weeks.

Claire Ashby, Visitor Experience Manager for the Northumberland Coast says “It’s fantastic to be able to work in partnership with Northumberland College on the Christmas Decoration Project – it’s a beautiful venue for the students to be able to showcase their work andfor our visitors it’s a chance to take a break from Christmas shopping, wrap up warm and come and experience Christmas at Lindisfarne Castle”

The Castle is open 10-1500 (last entry 14.30) on 7th, 8th, 20th, 21st and 22nd December.
