Father Christmas sprinkles festive magic over Breamish Valley with the opening of Muddy Boots Caf, Ingram

Northumberland children are invited to meet Father Christmas on Saturday 7 December 2013 at the new Muddy Boots Café & Gift Shop in Ingram.

Santa will land in the heart of the Breamish Valley at 11am when he’ll greet children with Christmas cheer and a gift.

The new Café and Gift Shop, which opened earlier this Autumn, offers a range of tasty, locally-sourced, homemade food (see below). Owner, Jan Holt, took over the management of the building from Northumberland National Park and will provide residents with a warm welcome at the beginning or end of their adventure in the Breamish Valley.

Jan said:

“We’re delighted to welcome Santa to Muddy Boots! His visit marks the start of our first month of operation. Parents can bring their excited children and sample the mouth watering cakes, treats or locally-roasted coffee whilst catching up with their friends and giving their child an experience that they’ll talk about for years to come!”

Muddy Boots will welcome visitors to the area with a range of food, art and products sourced from the region’s local talents. Jan explained:

“I want to celebrate, showcase and support the skills of the people in this beautiful county. I am particularly excited about selling freshly made pies and pastries made by Northern Wilds. Tasty food such as Partridge and Feta pie or warming ham and lentil soup, will provide a hearty start to a day’s exploration in the foothills of the Cheviots. We’re also displaying the artistic talents of local glass painter, Carol Nicholson, Pet Portraits’ Tracy Jones and artist Naomi Walker. Visitors can view and purchase their work from our gallery while enjoying a traditional Bari tea, from Alnwick.”

The building, located in the footprint of the former Ingram National Park Visitor Centre, will be an official information point for the beautiful Northumberland National Park and the adventures to be had in the surrounding valley and hills.

Entry to meet Father Christmas is free. Photography with him is £3.50 for one photograph or £10 for four. Photos will be printed off for families to keep and treasure!

Muddy Boots will be open 10am – 4pm seven days a week until 31 March 2014. From April – September, the café will open from 9am – 6pm. The venue, which also offer wifi for free, is also available to hire as a picturesque back drop to weddings, birthdays or other celebrations.
