Christmas at Woodhorn

Weekends at Woodhorn Museum will be full of Christmas cheer this December as the festive family fun gets underway on Saturday 30 November.

Visitors to the museum will hear first-hand from the great man himself what the naughty elves have been up to, his choice of tipple and treat on Christmas Eve and of course, what fuels the reindeers to deliver all of the presents around the world in one night. Enjoy a festive story then, after an all-important photograph, every child will leave with a lovely seasonal gift.

For 2019 Museums Northumberland have expanded the number of relaxed sessions this year, for those visitors who would feel more comfortable in a quieter environment. Under-fives can also enjoy a special time with Father Christmas on Fridays, with interactive sessions more suited to a younger audience. Also new for 2019 is a session with a British Sign Language interpreter to allow more families the opportunity to experience the event.

Families can also skate through history on the popular WonderIce Rink in the magnificent Pit Yard, before heading into the café for seasonal hot drinks and a delicious range of locally produced festive treats.

Festive Tales and Pit Yard Skating open on Saturday 30 November and run every weekend in December until Christmas Eve (including Monday 23 and Tuesday 24 December).

Festive Tales tickets - £6.50 per child including a gift and photograph

Pit Yard Skating tickets - £5 for adults and £4 for under 16s. Children aged 2 – 5 must be accompanied on the ice by an adult.
