Alnwick Garden to become enchanting winter wonderland

The countdown to A Christmas Tale is officially on as there’s less than one month left until The Alnwick Garden is transformed into an enchanting winter wonderland.

2,500 tickets have already been sold, with a total of over 10,000 people from across the North East predicted to attend the event, which starts on Friday 18th December.

Families across the area will enjoy a breathtaking display of first-class animations, projections, lighting and sound created by Ross Ashton and Karen Monid, the renowned artists behind the unforgettable projections on Buckingham Palace during the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in 2012 and on the Houses of Parliament during the 2012 Olympics.

Each night from Friday 18th to Wednesday 23rd December, visitors will be invited to venture through the grounds during a 45-minute journey to find out what happens after-dark when the Winter Sorcerer casts his spell, bringing The Alnwick Garden to life through a spell-binding blend of wintry illuminations and captivating interactive art.

Robin Morley, director of Enchanted Places, said: “A Christmas Tale is set to be the local Christmas event of the year, as people that experience it will see their beloved Alnwick Garden in a new light. We’ve already sold over 2,000 tickets in just a month, so we’d urge people to book now to guarantee themselves and their families a place before its too late.”

The Duchess of Northumberland who has been working closely behind the scenes of the project said: “I can’t wait to see the garden in it’s wintry glory. I know that locals and people from all over the North East will fall in love with what the Enchanted Places team has in store!

“It’s going to be a one-of-a-kind experience for the young and young at heart and is one not to be missed!”

Tickets to A Christmas Tale cost £11 for adults, £6 for children 5-16 years old and FREE for children 0-4 years old. A Family Ticket, which includes entry for two adults and two older children, is also available for £30.
