Afternoon Teas At Close House Have a New 'Ring' To Them

TYNEDALE’S luxury four-star Close House Hotel has announced the Newcastle-based family firm Ringtons as its afternoon tea purveyor.

As part of the new contract Ringtons Beverages, the food services division of Ringtons, will supply its premium envelope tea bags, loose tea and a range of ancillary products to the hotel, which prides itself on its fine food and beverage offering and its luxurious accommodation.

Ringtons’ envelope tea bags, milk portions, sugar sachets and a selection of biscuits will be supplied to Close House for use across its 31 bedrooms, while its loose tea will be served throughout the hotel including during its lavish Traditional and Champagne Afternoon Tea service – 6,000 covers of which are served annually.

Peter Llewellyn, managing director at Close House Hotel and Golf, said: “With the history of Close House dating back to the 18th Century we hugely value our heritage and we are delighted to be working alongside Ringtons, another North East brand immersed in the region’s rich heritage.

“Supporting local suppliers that reflect Close House’s ethos is extremely important to us and our guests are pleased to learn that their tea is supplied by Ringtons, a brand which is so synonymous with the North East.”

Stephen Drysdale, head of department at Ringtons Beverages, added: “Close House Hotel is one of the region’s most luxurious hotels and its Afternoon Tea service, which showcases the North East’s best local produce, is highly sought-after so this is a major contract for Ringtons Beverages. We are proud to work with organisations such as Close House that share an affinity to our brand values and we are very much looking forward to building on our relationship with the hotel.”

Situated in Tynedale’s stunning countryside, Close House Hotel is a beautifully restored Georgian mansion with spectacular views of the River Tyne Valley. In addition to Close House’s 31 sumptuous bedrooms, guests are also able to enjoy the award winning Argent D’Or Restaurant.
