Thrice Stewed

I agree with the stout supporters. In fact the beer is worth the walk. Our room was facing the brewery and whilst it was newly refurbished it was small and functional but it did have a (pokey) bath. Lots of hot water. Open fire which was great as we'd walked 14 miles to get there in a biting wind. Food was samey for meat eaters but as a veggie I can say the cheese soufflé was (heavy) cheesy and deeply satisfying. Cheese plate was typically Northern and massive. They've got you over a barrel here but at least it's a craft barrel.

Twice Brewed, but we'll be visiting more than twice!

magpiechick, Foxdale, United Kingdom
We booked a superior double room for one night in April, so we could enjoy a visit to Hadrian's Wall., and the Twice Brewed Inn offers easy access to the most outstanding parts of the wall. The view out of our window to Steel Rigg was amazing. The room and bathroom were spacious, well-equipped and comfortable. The pub is more like a small hotel, with plenty of room to eat in the bar, outside by the river or in the restaurant, and the food was very good. There were two stand out things that made our trip really special, though - the superb range of gins and craft beers (brewed in the pub's own brewery) and the fantastic, friendly and knowledgeable bar staff. Be warned though, you will need to budget for buying some of the delicious gin and beer, as well as a souvenir T shirt!

Great stopover

pmiller1970, Biggleswade, United Kingdom
Stayed for a night to do a walk along Hadrians wall taking in the nearby Sycamore Gap - breathtaking countryside all around. Food and ales were great - ask for a look around the attached brewery - very good - they also sell a lot of their beers and gin along with other merchandise - only criticism would be the size of the rooms and the soundproofing- we could hear everything from the rooms either side! The staff are great and very accommodating and the breakfast was fabulous- would definitely return if visiting the area again

great food and fantastic beer

We stopped off in our camper van for the evening. Enjoyed a wonderful meal and some great beer, which is brewed in their own on sight brewery.. Staff were friendly and provided top class service. Certainly hoping to visit again soon.

Great Overnight Stay

_stecullen, Manchester, United Kingdom
Stayed here overnight when visiting the Hadrian's Wall and had a great time. Beautiful location with stunning views and on a main through road while travelling to different attractions (forts) along the wall (Also situated close to Steel rigg car park for Sycamore Gap) Staff were friendly and the room was nice and tidy and didn't have any problems with the room. I had food at the night and breakfast in which both were great and tasty while being reasonably priced - Beer selection is good also. Overall happy with the room and may stay here.
