Beautiful

Isobel S, Glasgow, United Kingdom
Just stayed one night. What a beautiful idyllic place. It was dark when we arrived but the inn was lit up with a beautiful Christmas tree outside. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Nothing too much trouble. Rooms immaculate and recently renovated within a separate building just 10 steps from the inn. Dinner and breakfast excellent

Needs to improve

Went for barmeals. Quite expensive for what came. Unfortunately as not a very busy time of day. Bar staff were too busy chatting (rather loudly).to ask if our meal ok pity as nice pub and quite local to us but standard of food not good enough for price Don't know about accomodation Pity as quite a few of us looking for local pub but won't be here

Thank you to the Boatside , we had a lovely weekend the accommodation was excellent. The staff some of the friendliest staff we have encountered, thank you to the lovely lady who was on the bar on Sat evening. We had our Labrador with us and he was made so welcome . Absolutely first class .

Lovely Accommodation

Separate to the main building is a converted steadying with 4 individual rooms. My room (No 1) was spacious, clean, warm & with all required facilities. Excellent shower, comfy bed etc, only downside is that the railway is just behind the building, last train at 1030pm!

Slow service and kicked out

SelbLou, Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom
Booked for a family Sunday lunch Food was ok - small issues culminating for example, something not right about the turnip that was served with the dinner, the bun that came with the soup was burnt on one side, the Yorkshire’s were soggy in the middle. The service was slow. We didn’t get our dinner until after 1pm (we were there early for our 12pm booking). After the last person put their spoon down from finishing our desserts they were straight over telling us they needed the table in 5 minutes. We felt very rushed and that we were essentially being kicked out. While I have no issue with the premise of sittings, you need to be on the ball and give us a chance to actually enjoy our food and have the option of a coffee after we finish. The service was not prompt resulting in us being rushed and essentially kicked out. We won’t be returning. Which is a shame as we’ve had some nice meals here
