Excellent cottage stay

joods67, Weybridge
We stayed 3 nights in the South Tyne cottage before travelling on to Scotland for the remainder of our holiday. Unusually I hadn’t checked the place before on Tripadvisor before we left. Our criteria was ‘location’ and ‘dog friendly’ and The Boatside Inn turned out to be perfect! We we made very welcome on arrival and showed to the cottage. It was spotlessly clean, bright and beautifully presented. Later inspection of the kitchen cupboards and drawers proved how well equipped the kitchen was, especially for a holiday rental, and s full size fridge freezer and washer dryer was a great bonus too. We are in the restaurant twice; the food was great and portions very generous. The staff were very welcoming and friendly especially toward our dog who enjoyed lots of fusses! On arrival, to stretch our legs after a 300 mike car journey we followed the public footpath sign to watersmeet- where the south Tyne and north Tyne meet; and then back toward the church which was beautiful too and very interesting with its Saxon tower. We had a wonderful stay, and would have happily stayed a week. Will be back

Wonderful evening meal

We had the most wonderful evening meal here. Everything was great, the setting, the food, and the staff. Can’t fault anything. Have booked for another evening meal. The prices are very good too. If you’re in the area it’s a must for your evening meal.

As good as ever

I am biased towards this place as it's definitely our favourite place - whether it's for a drink or something to eat we both love it. Let's hope it never changes. The forthcoming horticulture show on the 19th August should hopefully be a great success as always.

Wonderful nights stop

Jo W,
Stopped here for one night en route to Scotland and couldn't have been more pleased - the room was excellently fitted and equipped, spacious and spotlessly clean. Despite it being a busy pub, we suffered no noise disturbance even in the middle of the evening. We chose the hotel as it said they catered for Coeliacs and they did indeed do so and I felt reassured that they understood what was needed and took it very seriously. The only problem was when they brought my ice cream with a wafer and I think the waitress was a little startled when my husband asked her to leave it on the table while she fetched a fresh one (there are places where the wafer has just been removed and the ice cream turned over and represented) however, she assured me that it was a completely fresh scoop and I have no reason to doubt that. The choice of gluten free was a little limited but that was partly because it was a Sunday. All in all they were very accommodating and I would thoroughly recommend. Excellent value for buttons o; these reviews do not work but I would give it 5 out of 5 for service, cleanliness and location (the location being attractive with plenty of parking).

First time at the Boatside Inn for a 3 night stay in Hexham . Our room was very comfortable and was exactly as pictured in the pub's information . It was spotlessly clean and couldn't be faulted. The meals that we had were very good with something on the menu to suit every taste . The staff and owners , all very friendly and clearly eager to please their customers with nothing too much trouble . We would recommend the Boatside Inn and will look forward to our return visits .
