Simply outstanding

Upon arrival my husband, son and I were heartily and warmly greeted making us feel really welcome. We were shown to our deluxe room which was stunning. Room 3. We had lovely views over the front grounds - tea, coffee and water in the room as well as luxury toiletries. The room impeccably clean as was the whole hotel. No mean feat considering there is so much white! Our six year old had a kick a round of football in the hotel grounds and there was a swingball provided which we had fun with so great for kids. We had drinks in the sun out the front before dinner which was out of this world. Can definitely recommend the platter. Stunningly presented and delicious. And enough for the three of us as a starter. For mains my son had the chicken nuggets which he loved. My husband and I had the bavette steak which was so delicious I can’t do it justice trying to describe it! Tender, full of flavour and cooked to perfection (medium rare). There was so much I struggled to finish it all! Can also highly recommend the Malbec. Our son had the sticky toffee pudding which he demolished and was definitely home made. The staff were so friendly and helpful also - can’t stress enough how they helped make our stay so special. We completed our breakfast order and then off to bed. We all had a great nights sleep in an incredibly comfy beds - my son being in a zed bed. Sheets and towels were super soft - just divine. Breakfast was great the next morning. My husband had full English which he enjoyed. I had eggs Benedict and most definitely had the best hollandaise sauce I’ve ever tasted. My son had a mini full English which he equally loved. Lots of choice with tea, coffee, juices, cereals and fruit. Also lots of car park spaces which are free. This place is just exquisite in every way. Whether coming from further afield or if you fancy a local cheeky night away, this place will not disappoint.

Good service with a smile

We have stayed in many rated hotels in three continents. St Marys has been re-stated as a classy place to rest your head. Car parking is free and plentiful The surroundings are spacious, boarded by a beautiful stand of very mature trees. The staff are dedicated to 'customer-first', and go above and beyond to please and help Re-booking for September.

Comfiest ever beds and good food!

Had a night away last week staying at St. Mary's Inn. Really, really enjoyable in a beautifully appointed room, everything provided of a high standard. Although the room was situated above the bar area we could not believe how quiet it was - excellent sound proofing. Couldn't have chosen a better night - Monday, quiz night. The regulars and quiz master were most welcoming and we had a great time after an amazing meal. The menu is varied and caters for all tastes and occasions. We highly recommend the 'Snack Attack'. We enjoyed this as a sharing starter but it equally serves for nibbles with drinks or could be eaten by individuals as a main meal. Breakfast was great too - full English, preceded by buffet with wide choice of juices, cereals and fruits. Couldn't recommend highly enough for short stay on way north to Scotland or for longer stay creating an opportunity to explore the beautiful coast and countryside .of Northumberland, and of course with the added bonus of a shopping trip into Newcastle.

Re-opened at last!!!! We've missed you!! :0)

Much to our delight, St Mary's Inn, has now officially re-opened. We attended the opening BBQ with a group of friends and have to say what a fantastic day. The food was amazing, the staff so attentive and friendly (nothing was a bother for them and lots of new faces) and what a great atmosphere. We also stayed over night and all agreed how beautiful each of our bedrooms were, so light and airy and love the decor. We are planning our next visit already...would highly recommend to anyone who hasn't been to this hidden gem.

St Mary’s now re-opened and so glad its back😊😊😊

On a beautiful sunny bank holiday Sunday we spent the day at st Mary’s for the opening BBQ, which was excellent. a large group of us spent the full day there, the staff as usual were very polite and accommodating. We enjoyed the day so much we are already planing a return visit. The great thing I’ve always liked about st Mary’s, even though there are a number of different rooms away from the bar, the staff are always popping there head in to see if your OK and if you need anything or more drinks, that little extra personal touch makes the place stand out and so enjoyable to spend time in. Lovely to see such a dog / child friendly place
