Never Again

iansue86, Inverness, United Kingdom
I stopped here overnight to break a recent journey, had tried to stay previously as it always looked nice from outside but its usually full, so I thought I was lucky to get a room but oh my god was I in for a shock! the bed was about the only thing in the room that looked clean and ok, The windows were covered in loads of handprints, the kettle was very discoloured not anything I would want to use anytime soon, the open wardrobe area had not only their coat hangers but several others from what looked like maybe wedding guests clothing and the remnant's of the packaging from the new shirt was still left on the floor so that area definitely hadn't been cleaned, I awoke early to leave to find no towels in the room or bathroom! not a place I would ever hurry back to left there wishing I had just slept in the car!!

Family meal

Called at the Lodge as we were staying nearby and we weren't disappointed. Family meal that was fantastic, 4 adults and 3 children all raved about the quality of the food and the friendly staff and great service. We came back 3 times and weren't disappointed. Great food and service would definitely recommend.

Five of us visited on Sat morning on route to Edinburgh and again today returning home. Fantastic value for money, delicious good quality food and very friendly staff. Purdy's Lodge will now our regular pitstop on such a long journey. No more service stations!! A must visit - oh and lovely ice cream!

Excellent views

My wife and l stayed overnight whilst travelling down from Scotland. The hotel is on the main A1 and although it is by the side of the main road, the property is well soundproofed as l didn't hear any traffic noise. Our bedroom overlooked the fields and Bamburgh Castle which looks out over the sea. We had a lovely meal in the restaurant and breakfast was included in the price of the room. On both occasions, the staff in the dining room were very helpful, friendly and pleasant. Everywhere was clean and tidy.
