 18/05/2019 | Fantastic stay!Particulartodetail, Checked out today after two lovely days and nights at Linden Hall Hotel (helping out at a charity golf event). I wanted to leave a review as I work for another hotel chain and I've never experienced the level of genuine care, attention to detail and professionalism shown by every member of the team, from the reception staff (two female and one young male) lounge barman, breakfast team, F&b leisure and the golf guys. Nothing was a problem, they all took the time to make us feel welcome and offer help where it was needed. Unbelievable customer care!! Looking forward to our next stay. Thankyou. |
 17/05/2019 | Worst Spa visit ever !Lovesthesunlots, Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom The worst spa I have ever visited. If you are thinking of going DON’T. You will be disappointed. The Spa receptionist was clueless. The facilities are dire. The local leisure centre has better changing rooms. The changing rooms were dirty, disgusting and in serious need of a refurb. The facilities not much better. The steam room door didn’t even shut properly. The have 7 beds in the whole spa for people to relax on. Which is inadequate. The blankets and cushions on the seats in the relaxation room look filthy. I wouldn’t even let my dog sleep on them. I asked to speak to Spa manager was told there wasn’t one. We left after 55 mins of being there that’s how bad it was. Terrible save your time and money and go else where !! Complained also at main hotel reception and they did apologise. And say they would get someone to be in touch. But I’ve never heard from anyone. The whole place needs a good clean. Awful. |
 16/05/2019 | Tired hotel with poor food. Friendly staff though.neilm920, Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom Stayed here as part of a golf trip. The rooms are fine and clean. The bar shut far too early for groups of lads playing golf as it shut at 21:30 or 22:00. Guys in the pro shop were great and happy to help. The main problem was the food. Very poor,the quality and portion sizes were well below par. Soup was cold, sticky toffee pudding inedible but this was all part of the package deal. To make things worse ordered a club sandwich which came in 2 limp slices of bread filled with a manufacture sandwich filling and a bit of chicken for £15. I should have taken a photo as it's hard to describe how poor it was. The golf course is ok but you can see it needs investment, not one bunker had sand in it, the greens needed cutting and the rough was far too punishing for visitors not knowing the course. Such a shame as this could be a great hotel. |
13/05/2019 | Long standing membersmagtb, Sheffield, United Kingdom Having been long standing members of MacDonald hotels including a few family reunions albeit we haven’t used for a couple of years due to illness we were very disappointed to find that we had inadvertently booked a non transferable room on a date that was a day to early for our travels. When we rang to see if we could alter it, was NO there are no rooms available the next night, yet on checking their website there were many rooms available. We know it was our mistake and actually we never book rooms without a cancellation policy due to health issues. If this is the way they treat members neither us or any members of our family will use them again. They didn’t even bother to ask what dates or hotels in the past we had used. Customer service nil. |

But walking through the hotel was more like entering a stately home, so beautiful. The bedroom was large with just about everything anyone could need. Bath robes and towels, lovely and fluffy. Slippers and toiletries. Large comfortable beds. Tea and coffee including teapots. Breakfast was lovely too, good variety. A place we recommend and one we will be returning to if ever in the area. |
