11/02/2019 | Shocking CelebrationDavejones68, Atherton, Manchester Awful food on 'Celebration Menu', pokey little room although well equipped. Complained to Macdonalds, offered to show me how well they can do. Too late we won't be going back. I think they should have offered a refund of the dinner charge but hey ho, their loss in future. |
04/02/2019 | OutstandingMegan S, Ipswich, England, United Kingdom I stayed here for two nights and ran two training sessions in one of the conference suites. The hotel and conference facilities could not be faulted. My room was lovely, all the food was exceptional and every member of staff was friendly and helpful. The icing on the cake was the beautiful setting. |
03/02/2019 | Great place but could be excellentSimonEat, Manila, Philippines A two day visit to linden hall with my parents where I booked two featured rooms being a little bit more pricey than the standard rooms. Upon checking in we were given a featured room and a standard room. I pointed out we paid for two featured rooms which they rectified and provided a better room for me. The room was nice and elegant but pillows and sheets could be a little bit more comfortable as I found the room a little hot and not a fan of soft feathered pillows. The pool area was well maintained and beautiful. Our evening meal in the restaurant was a little pricey as the pub they offer was closed. The food and service was good. I would award this hotel five stars but needs some improvements to the building to be considered five stars on trip advisor. Worth going to. |
02/02/2019 | rooms OK but the rest is very expensiveDavid L, We attended a wedding and booked 2 rooms they were both a bit tired needing re painting of windows and the shower / bath surrounds. The service level was great and the facilities were there but relatively expensive particularly body massages. The breakfast was varied with the bacon being similar to ancient Egyptian parchment! on the cooked breakfast. The swimming pool was very nice. |
02/02/2019 | Bit disappointedfootballmadeddy, Based on the price we paid to visit here, I was expecting a lot from this place. Sadly for me, it didn't deliver as it should have. Check-in is 3pm and we arrived on the dot to be told that our room isn't ready yet and can we please take a seat in the lounge and someone will come and provide us with a drink whilst we wait. This drink never apeared, and it was nearer 4 when we got into the room. Not too much of a big deal, but inconvenient when you have a 5 month old baby in tow. Not a great start to the proceedings. Other annoyances for me were the extorinate food prices. We were effectively snowed in, and having a young baby not as able to get out to any alternatives. We had no other choice but to have the food at the hotel. We ordered 2 burgers on room service. The bill came to 35 quid which I'd have to say was outrageous. It was a nice enough burger but not nice enough to warrant those sorts of prices. I was also slightly irritated that it took the housekeeper until 3 o'clock to get to our room. Sods law that we had been out all day and got back at 3 only to find the housekeeper just getting to us. We visited on the weekend of the heavy snowfall and I was also very disappointed that the hotel had not taken it on themselves to clear the car park and the exit to the hotel. This caused very perilous driving and parking conditions. I honestly can't understand why no one had cleared it and I was skidding through their car park. On more positive notes the good points were the breakfast (best black pudding I've ever had), the friendliness of the staff and the spa facilities which I though were exceptional. Just a shame they didn't think more about the safety of their guests by clearing the snow in the car park and exit. For the price we paid, I do feel slightly deflated. |
