Medieval Week at Alnwick Castle

Join us for a week of Medieval themed fun at Alnwick Catsle. On top of our regular programme of daily activities, we have the following special events taking place: Birds of Prey - Saturday 8th to Wednesday 12th Witness an exceptional display of medieval falconry, worthy of entertaining the old Earls of Northumberland, from two of the country’s finest historical falconers.

Combined with enchanting storytelling and inspiring history, which is sure to thrill and entertain the whole family! With an extensive knowledge and a passion for historical interpretation, Raphael Falconry’s performances represent an authentic reproduction of falconry from the medieval period. Jesting with Zooted - Saturday 8th July - Wednesday 12th July Experience fun filled family entertainment, suitable for Aristocracy of Northumberland, with this eccentric duo’s side-splitting theatrical performance of visual and verbal comedy!

Harking from a period when comedy was uncomplicated and well, let’s say… simple, Baldwin the Fool and Godfrey Pugh never fail to delight audiences with their brilliant blend of medieval mischief and slapstick comedy. These jesters replicate entertainment as it would have been performed to the old courts of days gone by, when chivalry was the order of the day and valiant knights fought one another to defend their honour! Witness medieval mischief and wondrous circus tricks, performed by this highly interactive and comical act, which is bound to have you laughing, cheering and even weeing (don’t worry, it’s just a sound effect you’ll be making during the show)! These events are free with admission to the castle, so why not set a date in your diary.
