The performance will feature improvised soundscapes and original music from Laura's upcoming album and poetry collection, 'As the Flow Cries', as well as Early folk and Northumbrian music exploring the sacred and secular history of Holy Island. See more of Laura's work on her Instagram page.
Laura is freelance musician and graduate of the University of York, where she was under the supervision of folk singer Dr Stef Conner. Laura is one of this year's four grant holders from the Alan Surtees Trust which will enable her to produce her latest album and poetry collection. She toured with the National Youth Folk Ensemble from 2018-19 and has since been performing her own work as well as in her improvisation duo, Weaver and Wood.
This promises to be an exciting, informative and intimate performance and is suitable for all ages. The Crossman Hall is a fully accessible and spacious community venue at the heart of Holy Island.
There is ample parking at the main visitor car park on the island, TD15 2SE.
