To commemorate the 75th anniversary of D-Day, there are two wartime-themed art and poetry exhibitions - at Blyth Library and also at Blyth Battery Museum. They feature drawings, photos and poetry by Eileen Idrissi-Sbai that focus on local history, as well as highlighting the contribution of Commonwealth countries during the World Wars.

Included in the display at Blyth Library is the front cover of the 'Sporty Friends and the Great Outdoors' ebook. This is to show that the outdoor games played by children during wartime, such as football and having races are still enjoyed by children today. This exhibition also encourages the next generation of local authors and artists to design their own book covers.
