Lovely place, management need more customer service skills and need to learn how to deal with complaints better.

Jaszak,
So we arrived here on friday. In my party was my husband, myself, my daughter who is 3 and my son 1 and my dog. We were with 3 other families all pitched next to each other which we thought was great as a little getaway we never get after a hard week of work (nothing was ever said to us about group bookings) We pitched up on friday and friday night got the stove going with our hot beef and cracked opened the drinks. Kids were obviously excited and playing around and the men even went to the pub and left us women with kids and then came back at 11. We initially hadnt known we were on a curfew at 11pm (site orders) until a man in a jacket and torch came over and told us to keep the noise down. We were only laughing enjoying ourselves and not causing any harm to others...he came again told us again to keep noise down and obviously when there is a group of 10 people it is hard to be completely silent. So as a group we went to bed at about 11.30pm and nothing else was said to us about the matter. The 2nd night we watched the match on the tablet and had a bbq and as we werent all as excited were in bed by 10.30pm. We took the kids to the splash pool, the park was amazing. We loved it so much we all planned to go back so we got back and booked up straight away. Until i got a phone call saying we werent welcome back, as we were swearing, making too much noise etc... Why didn't anyone chuck us off the site there and then if we were that bad or have a word with us (thats what they say they will do on the signs there if they think you are a disruption) The only night anything was said was the friday by the man with torch and jacket telling us to keep the noise down. We were on a camping sight not a 5 star luxury hotel or in a caravan where we couldnt be heard. In the morning u could here someone cough in the tent next to you. I honestly think if my family were there alone in no grouo nothing would have been said to us. But if you are in a group and there's a few of you of course you are gunna be heard more than others. I think the management have dealt with this appallingly. They have no proof and are accusing us of things we have not done no management were near us at all and no one had pulled us apart from that friday night to tell us to keep noise down as was past 11pm and we went to bed shortly after and are now barred from the site and not welcome back. The manager rang me out of the blue and was very rude to me over the phone so our full group is barred and never allowed back. How can they pin point certain individuals amd penalize us when he never even seen us face to face or warned us when we were there. Just a warning for families who actually want to enjoy themselves and have a laugh, i think they are treating this place like a 5 star hotel and not a outdoor camp site...the whole point of a campsite is your outdoors its not a wellbeing retreat. So if u want to have a curfew and be in bed asleep by 11pm and make no noise this is the place for you otherwise stay away. Ive read previous reviews and i wish i did before i booked as i would know the way in which management would treat us. Very very bad customer service, lovely campsite. Dirty toilets that arent cleaned regular enough every one at one point was dirty and one completly smeared with poo on the seat and not enough showers open.

Fantastic site

Just got back from a 2 night stay with our tourer and we will be booking up again. The parks are amazing for the kids and kept our children entertained throughout. Nice setup in the centre for the kids to play football too. Toilets/showers were of a high standard and very clean. We ate in the restaurant one night (fish and chips) and weren't disappointed, kids enjoyed the chicken nuggets also. Overall site facilities including shop really good. There is a pool on site but we didnt use it but it did look good. It's very close to local attractions ideal for a trip out. Nothing to complain about other than the weather.

Bad food, no children facilities working or open for a one night stay bank hol weekend

sharpy715, Kingston-upon-Hull, United Kingdom
We arrived on Thursday night just before the May Bank Holiday, we were only staying ONE night but arrived around 5pm. We were told the kids pool had already closed and wouldn't reopen until the following day some time after 10am. We were also told the following night it would be open until 7pm if we wanted to come back! The kids entertainment room with games was also closed, but I asked them to open it for my son. Once opened my son returned to say one machine had taken 3 coins and didn't work, I managed to get someone to give him his money back but in the end it just wasn't worth trying because most machines were broken or not working. We ordered food following the managers advice. Unfortunately it was over an hour to be served, the café was not busy, there were about 4 tables in, the food was disgusting, burned chicken which the bar man tried to return before serving to us and was told to take it out as it was. The Gammon was too salty to eat, the rest of the meal was returned not eaten. When I asked for my money back I had to wait to speak to the chef, she came out and apologised "If we didn't like it" but did not apologise for the poor quality and the fact it took over an hour. Later we were told there was a change in the chef/rota and it was actually the deputy site manager who was doing all the cooking! I guess the main site of static caravans is good because a lot of the comments are good about those, but if your touring and need to use the café I wouldn't recommend relying on the food, kids facilities or service.

A very high standard in a beautiful location

william200200, Mirfield
We stayed for a week in a Gold Deluxe caravan. We were in W17, which is a 3 bedroom caravan with a huge living area and a balcony which faces the trees and made it feel very much like Centre Parcs. Didn't get any sun though, so a van facing the other way would have been perfect. The van was very clean, had everything that we needed and the double bed was comfortable with clean, cosy bedding. The only issue that we had was the kettle, which really had seen it's day as it was full of limescale. However, when i mentioned this at reception, a brand new one was delivered early the following morning. The site is immaculately groomed, no litter and dog poo bins are around for us dog owners. I'd recommend a trip to the field to the north of the site to watch the sunset, it was beautiful. The pub was ok, although it was closed in the afternoons (i can understand why) but the pool was open and the lifeguard was there all day. The outside, covered and heated seating area is perfect as we were able to take our dog with us for a drink and did so whist there was a heavy shower, but we were very comfortable in there. The lovely bar man gave us a bowl of water for our dog complete with ice cubes! The shop is quite basic but seems to have a little bit of everything and the prices are reasonable. The bar area has free wifi, which we did use as the phone signal and 4G is sporadic and the paid for wifi didn't reach our van. We would love to own a static on this site and would definitely recommend this to anyone who loves the area and would like an affordable, comfortable place to stay.

Excellent

Stayed in gold deluxe caravan which was perfect. It was well equipped with all we needed. Linen and towels were lovely. The site itself is peaceful with fantastic views. One of our best holidays in a beautiful setting and we can't wait to return.
