Fabulous Clean Freindly to say the least

Julie C,
Site clean and tidy, pool warm and clean. Whole place was clean, and new looking plenty hot water kids loved the 2 play parks. We have no hesitation in recommending the site we didn’t have a single complaint. Great value for money and fresh French sticks for breakfast

Children's play area was very good

Kath00000007, Sheffield, United Kingdom
We visited the site with our daughter and 2 grandchildren in their touring caravan. The pitch was spacious and near the children's playground, which made watching the grandchildren play easy. There is also a large grassy area for the children to play on, including a goal post for cricket. The outdoor pool is heated, although small, only taking 30 people at any one time. There are some wooden picnic benches scattered around the site, which we found useful. The toilet block and showers were clean, although the hot water in the sinks was too hot. The site was quiet and friendly, with a shop which was reasonably priced for a camp shop. We walked to Budle Bay, and also to Bamburgh. There is a bus that leaves from the road near to Budle bay that goes to Bamburgh and Berwick-upon-Tweed. The Holy Island is worth a visit if the tides are OK to use the causeway. We would be happy to return to this site.

First time camping

Jason C,
This was our first time camping as a family of 2 adults and 3 children under 10. I was a bit apprehensive but family had tried Waren before and recommended it. We arrived a little bit early but the staff were great and let us straight on. We were on the electric side. There was plenty of space to park up and setup, however the occupants next to us had taken a bit of a liberty with their wind breaker and took up a bit more space than I think they were meant too. Once they left and the next family turned up there was more space. The pitch was a good size and well maintained. The layout of the field was fantastic, it allowed for all the kids to play in the middle and made it easy for them to make new friends whilst the parents kept an eye on them. This made it a fantastic holiday. The only down side was when some bigger kids/teenagers played football, always the chance of a ball bouncing off a car. The toilets were always in good condition and clean. Always seemed to be plenty of cubicles free should nature call, which was reassuring. Showers were good but were on a timer meaning you had to keep pressing a button but wasn't a real issue. The splash pool was a good size for the kids and was a good mixture of heights. Our 3,7 & 8 year olds loved it. The shop and bar seemed reasonably priced. I had expected due to the lack of competition that it might have been very expensive but this wasn't the case. There's two parks for the kids. Again, these were fantastically maintained and th e kids loved them. There's a nice beach at the end of the road which is accessible on foot. This means it was very quiet. The walk to it is a bit risky as it's gravelly and muddy. There is a curfew which seems to be enforced. Once it hit 11pm the site became silent. This was nice as it meant you were guaranteed quietness. On the camping side there are limited light sources which was nice, but I would recommend a torch for night time toilet visits. Overall, we loved the holiday and will be returning.

Spotlessly clean and comfortable holiday home

jennyscott2, Sheffield, United Kingdom
We had visited this site some years before and found that standards had been maintained and improved. The family bar and restaurant had been refurbished to good effect and our holiday home was spotlessly clean with all bed linen and towels provided. There was a useful welcome pack with tea, coffee etc.I All the staff were friendly and helpful. The views from this site are second to none with Lindisfarne one way and Bambugh Castle the other.

Stay in a wigwam

lotrrulzu, London, United Kingdom
We stayed in a wigwam for 3 nights. Found the wigwam to be not the best equipped. Fridge was tiny and only a kettle. The previous site we stayed in a wigwam also had a toaster and microwave. However, there was a cooking room down the hill that was fully equipped. Just as a couple that are used to camping we would have preferred to cater in our wigwam. Walk to the toilet block was a couple of minutes down a hill. Toilets and showers were clean but not luxurious. You have to repeatedly press the button for water in the shower or it times out and the temperature cannot be changed. Went to the restaurant for breakfast and found it to be average. Strange that the breakfast menu didn't list which items were included in a cooked breakfast. Used the shop for some items such as freshly baked pastries. Walk to the beach was 20 minutes down a hill. It was deserted and beautiful. The day before we left, a group of families arrived to celebrate a birthday. They had thought they had booked all the wigwams but we were still on the site for the other night. This made us feel a bit unwelcome and awkward. Overall our stay was fine but we wouldn't stay again. The site was catering more to families.
