lovely, friendly campsite

Spent the night here to take my young son cycling in Kielder Forest. Its a beautiful location and the owner was extremely friendly and helpful. It is a great spot if you are riding the trails as they are located very close, along with the catsle and viaduct. The camping field was excellent and the amenities clean with good showers. All water on site is drinking water and there is a large car park at the end of the field (no cars allowed on the field.) It was lovely and quiet and my young son had a terrific time playing on the play area and exploring the woods with the other children on the site. I would definitely recommend. Just watch out for the midges.

Great, friendly campsite!

Me and my girlfriend spent 4 nights at the campsite for our first camping experience ever. Steve the owner was really friendly and helpful during our stay, letting us know local attractions and things to do locally. Toilet block was great with all you need, with rain forest showers aswell! Kielder is remote but great to get away from technology and get back to basics if your looking for that. I have wanted to visit the local observatory for years and the campsite is perfect location with it being a 0 minute drive away. We will definitely be back hopefully making it for a yearly trip, maybe staying in a pod and watching a meteor shower in the beautiful dark skies.

Lovely peaceful Bank Holiday!

Spent the weekend up in Kielder for the first time and will definitely be returning! Arrived Saturday morning and was met by the friendly owner who gave us a choice of 3 pitches and explained how to get to the local pub and where to hire bikes. Lovely flat site and the ground was dry. Yes there were midges but I took jungle spray and was fine. Steve sells bug spray and citronella candles in the campsite shop. Campsite was full of friendly people and although it was fully booked it didn't seem overly crowded. Great site, we will definitely be back!

If you enjoy silence this is the campsite for you!!!!

So we arrived as a group of 7 friends pitched our tents up there is a quiet policy from 10pm-8am (which is fine) It was 6pm and I am assuming it was the manager come over to us and asked us to turn our music OFF it was only on a blue tooth speaker so not loud at all. We asked can we not turn it down he said no turn it off. So really the policy did not start from 10pm it was soon as you arrive. We went into the woods before we went back to our tent at 12pm we were rowdy during the night and we also heard another group going back to there tents at around 1am who were also making noise. We were woken by the rude manager telling us to leave the campsite which we did but we noticed the other group had not been asked to leave who had also made noise during the night only our group were asked to leave so we feel like he did not like us from the off to be honest and considering we had paid 110 pound for 2 nights with no offer of any sort of refund I found it unfair I do understand why we were asked to leave as like I said we were fairly loud it was more the fact of being asked to turn the music off at 6pm when it wasn’t very loud in the first place and we thought quiet was from 10pm??? And the fact the other group were aloud to stay so one rule for one a different for another rude campsite manager will never return and 110 for 1 night absolute rip off !!!!!

Great location

Ruth S,
Stayed here for one night in our motorhome. Nice quiet site with lovely clean facilities. The laundry room was warm so we washed our baby in the sink there!! The site is run by a community charity and the staff were friendly and helpful.
