Walking Hadrian’s Wall

JulieIles, Southampton, United Kingdom
An excellent B&B! David was a great host and couldn’t have been more helpful. After a full day’s walk he collected us from Heddon on the Wall. Our room was very comfortable (as was the bed) and a bath was much appreciated. Breakfast was wonderful as was the lift back up to the wall!

Wonderfully Run B&B

Christopher K, Leland, North Carolina
David provided a wonderfully restful stop along our Handrian’s Wall walk. The room was clean and comfortable and we were made to feel right at home. David made a special effort to get all the travelers introduced and welcome. He made dinner reservations at the adjoining wood stove pizza bistro. It was spectacular! The morning breakfast at the Inn was delightful and provided ample energy to get the day’s walk underway. Before heading out David made an extra effort to check in with us and our day ahead.

David is the man

Our party of 6 filled up Wormald House during our Hadrian’s Way expedition. David collected us from the Robin Hood Inn, since his place is slightly off the way, and made us feel comfie and at home right away. Rooms had everything we needed, even a top sheet because the duvet was too hot. He made us a dinner reservation and prepared a magnificent breakfast before escorting us back to the way. Well done David. Highly recommend.

Above and Beyond

SKI_64, Albany, Australia
The penultimate day of our Hadrians Wall walk and we finished at Heddon-on-the-Wall. Due to a lack of accommodation available here we were booked into Wormald House at Wylam, a few klms away. We were planning on taking the bus to Wylam but once we arrived we found that there was a rather long wait for the next one. When we booked David had phone him when we arrived at Heddon-on-the-Wall and he would come and pick us up. We hesitated to do this as we didn't want to bother him but due to the rather long wait and our aching bones we gave him a call to see about a pick up. His response was a welcoming and heartfelt Yes, much to my wifes joy. Wormald House is in a central location with comfortable rooms and a superb breakfast. This was the only B&B on our walk that offered us an early breakfast (before 7.30) which was surprising to us as we had thought most walkers would want to get under way as soon as possible. This was very much appreciated as was the fact that David also drove us back to Heddon-on-the-Wall to pick up our walk where we had finished the previous day. David and his father run a great B&B and their service to walkers is amazing.

Wonderful stay

Jim M, Uk
This was our first nights's stop when walking Hadrian's Wall. David and his Dad were so welcoming and friendly. The room was very clean and comfortable, breakfast was excellent and David produced lovely packed lunches and ran us up to the start of our next day's walk at Heddon, Can't fault this place, what great start! Highly recommend
