A lovely find.

Ate here several times whilst in the area. They are happy for your dogs to come in with you & provide treats & water for them. The treats appear to be handed out by the locals as well as the staff. Everyone very friendly & take the time to speak to you during your visit. Large portions of good pub food at great prices. Give them a try.

Very Dog Friendly

Petersun55, Newcastle Upon Tyne
Called in on the way from visiting Druridge Bay Country Park, not too far away, for a pint The two of us and the dog were made very welcome so we returned for food a couple of nights later (food starts at 6 pm in the evening but not on Sundays. Sunday lunch only. Looked very nice. The place could do with a bit of LTC but the service and food was good pub grub and reasonably priced. The dog wants to go back as she made friends with the owners .They did give her treats.

Lovely Sunday Lunch

TheoNick, Morpeth, United Kingdom
Came here for a Sunday lunch. This is the third time we have been and every time has been lovely. The food was piping hot and tasty. The staff were lovely. Our dog was made very welcome and enjoyed her free sausage. We all had roast beef, gammon, Yorkshire pud, mashed potatoes, roast potatoes, carrots, peas, cabbage, cauliflower cheese and certain individuals even had the mince and dumplings too. We were all full but the staff tin foiled our desserts for later. There was black forest gateau, chocolate fudge cake, coffee cake, lemon gateau, strawberry gateau and profiteroles. The four of us had main meal and desserts, 3 glasses of wine, 2 lagers, one beer and one fizzy water and it came to just over £53. Brilliant value and delicious too.

Blast from the past

alison322002, Bishop Auckland, United Kingdom
Not perfect but getting close. Room was massive n so was the bathroom. Sofa in room had not been moved to be hoovered behind. Bed very firm so didnt sleep well. Bathroom smelt a bit as no extractor or air freshner. But massive tv n nice hospitality tray. Nice breakfast. Food was not bad even though couldnt find the garlic in my garlic mushrooms. Got my partners meal completely wrong but came back with a lush steak cooked spot on. Drinks not badly priced. But overall a pleasant stay

Home again

bigjojn,
Well myself and the wife have just stayed at the Trap Inn Broomhill again for 3 nights. This is our 4th visit to Northumberland in 3 yrs. Always stopped at the Trap, many reasons for this the main one being the friendly owners Mike and Sandra, the staff and locals are always pleasant and interested in ypur adventures of the day, and even offer advise on places to visit. Some of the negative reviews I read make me think some people want something above what is advertised. The Trap is a family run pub with rooms. Not a 4 or 5 star with hot and cold running staff doing everything for you. The trap on all our visits has been clean comfortable and the food very good classic pub fare. We would like to thank all the staff and locals for taking time to make us feel like part of the community whilst we were there. Again all I can say is well done Mike Sandra and the staff. Never was anything to much trouble. For those that want 5 star pay for it. For the rest of you that want good old fashioned homely feeling and good home food. Then you could do a lot lot worse than the Trap Inn. Hope to see you in the new year guys. John/ Jan
