Home from home

Roving554051,
The staff could not do enough for us. The breakfasts were excellant, perfect poached eggs and home made jams and marmalades Well located for exploring the Northumberland coast, the Boarders and even Kilder forest. What made the holiday for us was the gambolling lambs outside the window.

Lovely stay and wonderful food

lizl266, Skipton, United Kingdom
We stayed for a couple of nights on a visit to the Scottish Borders. Had a lovely relaxing stay. Really nice rooms with comfortable beds. There is a lovely lounge where you can chill out with a bar and complimentary tea/coffee and scones or cake which is a lovely touch. Very friendly family run hotel. We ate there both evenings enjoying a choice of food and had 3 courses all home made and absolutely delicious including a venison casserole with Stilton scones and a banana and baileys bread and butter pudding. Highly recommend.

Very good central base

Mark J,
This lovely old converted farmhouse is ideally situated on the English/Scottish border to visit Berwick, Holy Island, Coldstream, Bamburgh and the beautiful coastal area of Northumberland and the National Park. The staff are very friendly and chatty and cook a smashing breakfast. We used room 4, which is dog friendly, and enjoyed a comfortable super king-sized bed. We had television and a fridge in the room with tea and coffee making facility. We visited 29-31 March when the sheep were due to lamb on the small holding next to and part of the property. It all made for a lovely visit to the beginning of the better months of the year. would love to return.

Amazing family weekend

janbrian01,
Right from the start of this suprise 'Family weekend' Jackie and Yvonne were just amazing. I am a regular visitor for their fab afternoon teas but this is the first time myself and my family (15 of us), have stayed. All the staff are fantastic, welcoming and go out of their way to provide a home for home for your stay. The venue is great as are the rooms and the food. An absolute gem of a place run by very special caring people. Try it out .. you won't be disappointed! Jan
