Warm and friendly

Shebashful, Sheffield, S Yorks
We have just spent 3 nights at the Coach House. The staff were very attentive and couldn't offer up enough tips and great suggestions of where to visit. The continental breakfast was superb with a fabulous offering of fresh fruits and homemade muesli. The cooked breakfast was vast and eggs fresh from the chickens running around. However, the 'hot' breakfast soon went cold because it served on cold plates. The evening meal, in my opinion is offered quite late and although you have a choice of starter and dessert, you are given just one choice of main course. Again this soon went cold due to the cold plates. Our room was large and over looked the beautiful garden. It does need updating and a good clean. There were a lot of dead flies on the windowsills and old cobwebs. The Coach House is in a lovely spot but it's more a 3star B and B than a 4star luxury....

Lovely short break

Stayed several times before and as always had a lovely relaxing break. Travelled with my daughter and 16 month granddaughter. We were made very welcome. Stayed in the main house traditional bedrooms, full of character., comfortable and spotlessly clean. Several rooms have been refurbished since I last stayed . Excellent breakfasts and evening meals. Will book again soon thank you

Fantastic place

Debra M,
Fell in love with this place as soon as I walked in. A very warm welcome, with coffee and cakes on arrival. Superb breakfast, continental and full English. Evening meals to die for,and if you don't fancy the starter,or main meal, they're more than happy to cook you something else. All bar one rooms has ensuite, bed was so comfy, views idyllic. Lounge has quite A few chunky sofas to rest on,and also has an honesty bar in the main room. Staff are so lovely and attentive. Location is ideal too. Nice touches of fresh flowers in all rooms.I literally cannot fault this place and can't wait to go back. A lovely 17th century farmhouse,

Peace and quiet in beautiful setting

DD174, Edinburgh, United Kingdom
We really enjoyed our stay at The Coach House. Being greeted with afternoon tea - which included delicious homemade jam, scones and chocolate cake - was a lovely start. The staff were unobtrusive but available to help when needed. Breakfast was delicious, cooked fresh to order. I had worried after reading some reviews on here about rooms needing tlc. But we found the rooms very comfortable. The bathroom was spotlessly clean and touches like fresh milk in the room fridge with homemade cookies were lovely. So thank you Coach House staff for a delightful 2 night stay.
