Fantastic introduction to Northumberland

trulytravel, London, United Kingdom
Thank you to Claire and Simon for a very relaxing time in Belford. We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay and plan a return visit. Brekkie back at home is very small beer in comparison to the luxury of breakfast at the Post Office - completely delicious for 2 veggies and extremely generous. All the extras (Lindisfarne mead, gingerbread cake on arrival, a real coffee machine in the room) were added to by the comfort of the room, free off street parking and lots of local tips and even vouchers/discounts for nearby attractions eg Alnwick Gardens. This is an ideal location for exploring the coast of Northumberland and Holy Island as well as more inland beauty spots. Too many for this visit which means we'll happily be back for more.

Gorgeous homely, warm and wonderful B&B

NatElliott, London, United Kingdom
My partner and I booked this B&B at the beginning of a week long road trip for business. This was by far the best place we stayed in. Claire was amazing, she is hospitable and accommodating - nothing was too much trouble for her. We arrived late on a Sunday night and Claire offered to book us into a restaurant for dinner as places stopped serving at a certain time. This was very kind of her as we would have not thought of this! The room was immaculate with crisp white bedding, beds are extremely comfortable and you have Netflix on the televisions. Everything just felt so clean, it was lovely. There is even a little pot of marshmallows in the drawer for hot chocolate! Breakfast is fab, with homemade produce and fully cooked breakfasts. The menu is a tasty variety of all your favourites with a touch of creativity. I honestly wished we could have stayed longer so we could try a few more options! Perhaps some time in the future we will visit again. My partner and I travel extensively for work and this is simply one of our favourite places we have stayed. I think Claire and Simon are doing an excellent job and take meticulous care in accommodating their customers. Thank you so much.

Five star excellence!

47HHT,
What a superb B&B Claire and Simon run. I stayed just the one night, but will definitely be returning asap. They are the friendliest, warmest and most accommodating of hosts, and one feels immediately welcome and at home. The facilities, furnishings and décor are of the highest quality, and they seem to have thought of everything from ear plugs to dressing gowns, and their breakfast menu offers fourteen choices! Be good to yourself and visit the Post Office B&B, and enjoy a great stay in beautiful Northumberland.

Superb overnight stay

nicola160213, Ilkley, United Kingdom
This is simply the best B&B I have stayed in. Clare has thought of everything from earplugs in the bedside drawer to fresh coaster kippers for breakfast. The Post office is super clean and the hosts are so welcoming, a proper home from home

Wonderful!

Colin C, Driffield, United Kingdom
This is a superb place to be after a long motorcycle ride. Simon and Claire make you ever so welcome and it soon feels like home. The rooms are amazing with everything spic and span! Immaculate, makes my home look a bit run down LOL. Facilities were excellent - nice idea to have a Krups coffee machine plus kettle etc. I only stayed one night on my way to Scotland - but plan to return and use Belford as a base for 2 or 3 days to do some long walks. The bed was incredibly comfortable and it's ever so quiet - massive thick walls and a peaceful town. The nearest pub is about 2 doors down the hill and there are 2 others to choose from. Great food & real ale in the pub too. Breakfast.... Massive! If like me you're watching your weight... just ask for less. Honestly, I was full up until I reached Loch Awe near Oban in Scotland, an all day ride. Delicious and plenty of choice, I had the full Northhumbrian and had never heard of vegetarian Haggis before. Not keen on Haggis, but this is spot on. The way Claire and Simon work it makes everything easy, nothing is too much trouble and all you have to do - if you need to change anything is just ask. All in all - brilliant and I will return! Oh and as a motorcyclist - it's important to have safe parking. This place has that and was secure.
