Overview

Post Office House is a privately owned and run bed and breakfast located in Belford, close to major attractions and the Scottish Borders.

Our three rooms are appointed to a high standard with luxury bedding, bathrobes and toiletries comprising: superior twin and two superior doubles (one located on the ground floor). Facilities also include free WiFi and homemade cake on arrival.

We are sorry, but we do not accept pets or children under 12 years.  We have no capacity for extra beds in any of our rooms.

There is private off-street parking for three cars plus secure storage for cyclists and motorcyclists.

Our award-winning breakfasts are freshly cooked-to-order, using quality, local produce including Craster Kippers and Bamburgh Banger sausages. Guests are asked to choose from our cooked menu the night before, along with their preferred time from four slots between 8 am and 9.30 am. In addition to the cooked variety, is homemade muesli and other cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurt, fruit juices and toast. Marmalade and jams are made on our premises. We are also members of `Produced in Northumberland’, a scheme set up to promote the regions' local producers and suppliers.

We are situated between Alnwick and Berwick-upon-Tweed and just 2 minutes off the A1. Our location is perfectly located to explore the extensive and diverse range of attractions Northumberland has to offer.  Walker, cycle and motorcycle friendly.

We can cater for gluten-free, vegan and any other special diets (by prior arrangement)

Check-in: Between 4 pm and 6 pm.

Check-out: No later than 10.30 am

IMPORTANT NOTICE: No stag/hen/wedding groups or divers.

Excellent B&B with wonderful hosts

nameofhouse,
Simon and Claire are the most friendly and attentive hosts. Their artistic creativity shows in the beautiful and superbly equipped rooms. They provide the most delicious breakfasts and I was delighted with my personal vegan menu - difficult to choose from such imaginative and interesting dishes. Their local knowledge provided us with lots of information on the area, which meant we had three wonderful days exploring the Northumberland coastal area. Thank you Simon and Claire. We hope to be back.

Second visit this year

GrahamB2069,
Our first visit went so well we just had to return. We were not disappointed. Claire and Simon are the perfect hosts. Room spotless. Food divine. Perfect location with so many attractions within 30 minutes drive. We both appreciated the warm welcome on arrival. (Especially the ginger cake) . Will we return ? ABSOLUTELY. Graham and Den.

Amazing B and B

John S, Michigan
Nicest B and B we have ever stayed in, would give it 6 stars if I could. Simon and Claire are wonderful hosts, the breakfasts are great and the facility is finished to an extremely high standard plus the expresso machine was an unexpected bonus. Location is great with easy access to points of interest on the coast or any of the nearby pubs for a drink or evening meal. Hopefully we will get back to the Post Office House again in the future.. Great Little Place

BaildonLad, Yorkshire
A lovely warm welcome from Simon & Claire. Case & bag carried upstairs. Beautiful room at the front overlooking the church, no noisy bell chimes thank goodness. Everything provided, fresh milk from the fridge, coffee machine, kettle etc.. The shower is " cosy ", the towels are to die for, so soft. Dressing gowns provided as well. Select a time & a selection from the menu the evening before for a cooked breakfast the following morning . Every thing spot on, proper napkins even. We must go again sometime. Thanks S & C ..

Excellent B&B!

Jan N, Rossendale, United Kingdom
Stayed here for 4 nights, and couldn’t have wished for a better place to stay. Claire and Simon are excellent hosts, including the now famous ginger cake on arrival! Lovely rooms with great attention to detail. Breakfast was a joy every day, excellent food and so nice to sit with other guests to compare notes on exploring the area. Belford is a lovely little town with good local pubs for evening meals. And very handy for visiting the wider area of beautiful Northumberland. Def recommend!!
