Wonderful stay at a new favourite place

Hannah G, London, United Kingdom
Stayed for 3 nights, a wonderful place full of warmth, kindness and excellent hospitality. Feels more like a private members club. Rooms were great, food was delightful, even breakfast was brilliant. Staff were wonderful and I'll definitely return. Thank you.

The cook'ies in the Cookie Jar were so good we just had to go back for more!

Hillary S, Wigan, United Kingdom
Called in for a coffee and a cake and were walked through to the dining area at the back by very friendly staff and made to feel very welcome. Service was impeccable, the décor was unique and the ambiance just gave the place the WOW factor. Coffee and cake was so good we asked if there was any chance of dining that evening. They were booked up but our waitress went off to speak to the chef, returning to say that if we could come a little before 7pm they would happily find a table for us. That evening we had the most delicious meal, served at a very leisurely pace. We had cocktails in the library where we ordered our food and when the table was ready we were led through to the dining room. We were made to feel like royalty. We asked to have our coffees in the library after the meal and staff were happy to do that. The whole experience at the Cookie Jar was beyond Excellent.

Afternoon Tea

We popped in for a coffee before visiting the nearby castle & were so impressed by ambience & friendly staff that we went back for an Afternoon Tea. It was delicious with a good range of sandwiches, scones & cakes, would recommend it as a place to visit.

An Awesome place to stay in Alnwick

FarWanderer007, Sydney, Australia
A wonderfully renovated building with plenty of history. When we arrived we warmly greeted and very soon comfortably ensconced in the luxurious rooms. Wonderfully decorated and spacious. From my room I could watch the sun rise over the towers of the castle. The bathrooms were modern, and very roomy. All the staff were friendly, helpful and happy to answer our questions regarding where to eat, when to see the sights, etc. The manager was extremely helpful in their suggestions, and happy to make bookings for us. The common lounge area was an excellent place to sit and sip some wonderful cocktails, and relax. It is only about 50 metres from the entrance of Alnwick Castle. It is an easy walk to Several Taverns and Inns for some refreshing local ales and atmosphere. A sticker for parking was provided, so the car could be parked directly outside thefront of the building.

A fabulous place to stay!

rob234, Newbury, United Kingdom
We visited The Cookie Jar as a family of four and had two separate rooms. The hotel is extremely well presented throughout and clearly someone has spent a great deal of time on the finer details – always a great sign! We were met by the front of house staff and warmly greeted to the hotel. Once checked in we were assisted with our luggage to the rooms. Both rooms were spacious and had large en-suite bathrooms. The rooms have been really nicely decorated and the beds are comfy! The hotel doesn’t have a bar and doesn’t serve food everyday but that’s not an issue as it’s situated in the town and there are plenty of establishments within just a few minutes’ walk. You can order drinks at the hotel – we had cocktails in the lounge, they were pricey but extremely good! Parking at the front of the hotel is limited in terms of stay time, but if you ask the hotel they will provide you with a permit so you can stay longer. The front of house took time to assist us with local knowledge and even recommended a restaurant in Edinburgh (our next stop), that turned out to be fabulous – thank you! Finally, yes they do have a cookie jar in each room, yes it has cookies, and yes they are excellent!!!
