We have really enjoyed our 3 night stay here at the Holiday Inn. Our room was lovely, spacious & modern - 2 proper double beds, rather than squashing our 13 year old on a little sofa bed. Staff friendly and helpful. Enjoyable breakfast & nice to have a pool area & gym to relax/exercise in. We have found plenty in the surrounding area to keep us occupied too.
Weddings at Holiday Inn Newcastle - Gosforth Park replied: Dear Jen W This is great feedback and thank you very much. We do hope that you will return in the near future and look forward to welcoming back you and your family. Kind regards Guest relations manager
Don't bother , cars are not safe parked up here, 3 police cars sitting waiting when we returned as local boys racers steal the parked cars, terrible service from staff also. Find somewhere else. Booked a bed and breakfast deal and no one could be bothered to tell us breakfast times.
Although this hotel is a 20 minute bus ride from the city, I found it to be an excellent hotel. The room was quiet, very clean and comfortable. There is a pool there which, sadly, we didn't get chance to use due to lack of time. The breakfast buffet was very varied and tasty. Most of the staff in the restaurant were cheerful and helpful. We found the female receptionist to be very pleasant and helpful particularly about bus stops and routes. The evening meal menu we found to be expensive, so we travelled to The White Swan at Dinnington nearby which we would thoroughly recommend. Some people had cycles at the hotel and appeared to be on a cycling holiday. The countryside is nearby.

Great stop gap.
We've stayed here twice now when traveling from Scotland to fly from Newcastle Airport. We really liked staying here as the rooms were large and spacious. 2 large double beds, spacious bathroom, iron and board. Perfect. The swimming pool is also great to relax in after the long drive. Staff always pleasant and helpful. A short drive to places like asda, Wetherspoons and the airport itself. Tea and coffee making facilities were perfect for our early morning departure. We've booked next year again as it's so relaxing.

Be careful with your choice of room !!!
We have stayed at this hotel several times over recent years and have always found it to be a good overnight stop on our 250 mile journey to Edinburgh. We have always booked a standard room and been allocated a spacious ground floor with a large bed and easy access to the car park at the rear of the hotel. BUT it would seem that all rooms on the ground floor are now executive rooms at a premium rate whilst lower priced rooms are much smaller on the top floor with a small double bed. The bathroom shower was walk in and of a good size. The room had been been refurbished and thankfully a new lift was working at the time of our visit. After a lot of frustration and demands that we paid an extra £20 for a larger room we were eventually moved to a executive/superior room. Much more space with a large King Size (?) bed. The bathroom, although refurbished, was quite small with a shower over the bath. We were very disappointed with the changes that seem to have been brought about that are not properly explained on the Hoilday Inn website. PLEASE read the room descriptions very carefully because we now realise there are a number of options for rooms that are available for the same price. As a Priority Club member since 2004 I'm sorry to say that we will look at the nearby Premier Inn next time where larger beds and rooms are the norm.
