Glendale Show

The Glendale Show celebrates all aspects of farming and rural life, from the best of livestock to the latest innovation and diversification in the region. The Show proudly features many attractions including the livestock, rare breeds and equine classes and industrial and horticultural sections with their vast displays of baking, vegetables, flowers and craftwork. Held each year on Bank Holiday Monday in August, the Glendale Show is a great, fun day out for all the family, packed full of classes and entertainment all day long.

Wooler is affectionately named the ‘gateway to the Cheviots’ and fittingly, Cheviot Sheep feature well amongst the livestock entries. There are a wide range of equestrian classes from Ridden Hunters, Working Hunters, Ponies (UK) Qualifiers to Show Jumping and mounted fancy dress. The equestrian classes are rated highly in the region and many competitors travel from afar to compete at the Glendale Show. Entries close on the 31st July 2008.

Throughout the day spectators can enjoy Music at the Bandstand, cookery demonstrations, Chainsaw carving, Children’s Entertainment, Fairground attractions and in the main ring, ‘The Bolddog Lings’ Motorcycle Stunt Team, Terrier Racing and Elaine Hill’s Sheepdog and Ducks Display. Of course a great highlight is the Grand Parade of Livestock.

For those looking for a spot of retail therapy, there are over 200 trade stands. From equestrian and pet products, clothing and footwear, and handicrafts and giftware, the Show offers an all round retail experience.
