West Coates, Georgian house furnished to a high standard and set in 2 acres of mature and interesting gardens. Our gardens produce fresh vegetables, fruit and herbs and are set out with many quiet areas for reading or just relaxing. Home cooking is to a high standard, special dietary requirements can be easily catered for.

A special feature is our large indoor swimming pool with hot tub for total relaxation.

Sea fishing, bird watching or boat trips up the River Tweed can be arranged. Berwick is a historical town having changed hands 16 times in recent centuries, with its famous walls and forts it really is steeped in history. The town itself is well served with shops, cinema and theatre (The Maltings).

West Coates is the ideal base while you explore our picturesque and historic borderland. Whether you are interested in walking, sightseeing, gardens, historic buildings, the sea or the hills we are ideally situated.

West Coates is situated in a quiet part of the town just 10 minutes walk from Berwick railway station, and can be easily reached by car on the main A1 North South truck road.

Road Directions

From A1
Heading north on the A1 from Newcastle. Go straight over East Ord roundabout over bridge and take the next turning in Berwick opposite the turn is off for Duns A6105. Come down this road which is called Castle Terrace, our property is on the left-hand side. West Coates is on the stone pillars at the end of our drive.

Public Transport Directions

From Berwick-upon-Tweed - 5 minutes walk
Come out of the station and go up the steps and take 1st left and follow the road up to Castle Terrace, we are on the right. West Coates is on the stone pillers at the end of out drive. A collection service can be arranged.
