The Official Visitor Site for Northumberland
Northumberland Farmers' Markets provide farmers, growers and producers with an outlet to sell their own produce, face to face. All products sold are grown, reared, caught, brewed, pickled, baked, smoked or processed by the stallholder, with many organic products on offer.
Local produce includes organically reared lamb from Northumberland's rolling grasslands and succulent beef and pork reared on lush pastures. During the game season, you can take home pheasant and grouse, whilst fresh organic eggs, corn-fed chicken and delicious fresh fruit and vegetables are always available. Sample luxury ice-cream or honey flavoured with heather from the local moorlands. Delicious Northumberland cheeses can be washed down with Matfen Magic or a Holy Island Ale, some of the many local beers produced by Northumberland's award winning breweries.
FARMA, the National Farmers' Retail & Markets Association assesses and certifies Northumberland's farmers' markets to make sure you're buying the freshest, most local produce possible. Check the search facility on the right to find times and dates.
