Art Tours

The sheer beauty of the Northumberland coast and countryside has inspired generations of local artists and craftspeople, many of whom belong to 'Network' - an organisation of independent professional Northumberland artists established in 1992 and growing every year. Many of these artists run their own fantastic galleries, whilst the work of others can be found in craft fairs and exhibitions across the county.

Among the Network are traditional and contemporary artists and illustrators, printmakers, sculptors, potters, glass and ceramics designers, photographers, jewellery-makers, textile and knitwear designers. In June and July, The Art Tour welcomes visitors into Northumberland's studios, potteries and workshops to meet the artists themselves and see them at work. Absorb the entire creative process and hear first-hand of the inspiration and ideas behind their work. 73 artists in 47 venues will be opening their doors to the public this year, including many artists who are new to the Tour.

The Art Tour provides just another excuse to visit Northumberland's beautiful towns and villages, to explore our miles of unspoilt countryside and take home a lasting memento of your holiday.
