Chipchase Castle is one of the best examples of Jacobean architecture. Also chapel, 14thC pele tower, walled vegetable and wild gardens with lake and herbaceous border.

From Hexham, take the Kielder route or A69 to Acomb through Wall village and straight across Brunton Crossroads to Chollerton/Barrasford. Signs for Chipchase Castle at entrance.
