September marks the annual Etal Horticultural Show, one of the oldest small village shows in the county to be still thriving and flourishing. Now in its 81st year, the show is commonly known to locals as "Etal Flower Show", or even just "The Show", and takes place every year on the first Sunday in September in a large marquee, opposite the Tillside cricket pitch.
Gates open at 12 noon and the main marquee at 2pm. Here the entries in over 150 different competitive classes are exhibited - including vegetables, fruits, flowers, baking, jams and preserves, needlework, handicrafts, photography, dressed walking sticks and children's section.
In addition there are many other attractions on the field - full details to follow.
Stay on for the AUCTION in the marquee towards the end of the show - many high quality exhibits will be available to bid for, straight after the raffle.
