This spectacular 5* detached single storey property, completed in summer 2010, has received a 2011 Visit England Gold Award for exceptional quality of accommodation. The cottage has wonderful views from fantastic large windows, a large and private garden, wood-burning stove, Aga, underfloor heating and every possible convenience for the discerning holidaymaker.
The cottage is located in a very convenient location for exploring the whole of Northumberland. It is situated in the village of Longhorsley - a large village with shop, church, restaurants and pubs. The small town of Rothbury, home to the National Trust's Cragside, and The Northumberland National Park are close at hand. A short journey takes you to Morpeth, a historic market town, or you may perhaps spend some time discovering the many local walks, or even golf courses.
The cottage has a large open-plan kitchen/dining/living area, with feature floor to celing wodows giving open countryside views. The kitchen is fitted with a large expanse of work surfaces, Aga, electric hob, fridge, freezer, microwave and dishwasher. The sitting area in front of the wood-burning stove has sofa seating with a wall-mounted flatscreen TV, DVD and CD players, WiFi, Play Station, games and books. The dining area has a table and chairs for 6 with views over the countryside.
All 3 bedrooms lead off the hallway. The main bedroom has a King-size bed, bedroom furntiure, wall-mounted flatscreen TV, French doors on to the terrace and access to a 'Jack and Jill' en-suite shower room with shower, WC, hand basin, underfloor heating, heated towel rail and also acces to the entrance hall. The 2 other bedrooms both have double beds, bedroom furniture, wall-mounted flatscreen TVs and views over the garden. The family bathroom has a bath, shower cubicle, hand basin, WC, shaver point, heated towel rail and tiled floor.
The cottage benefits from oil central heating.
Outside there is a large lawned garden with table and chairs, a summerhouse (which also houses the washer, dryer and laundry facilities) with its own veranda and seats. The front of the cottage has a large terrace overlooking open countrsyide, also with table and chairs.
