Camping with famly

kwskywalker99,
We just got back from 2 night stay camping at this site. Although the facilities we very good and well maintained considering the amount of families on the site there was nowhere near enough playground facilities for them. There was only ONE swing and ONE climbing frame with slide! This is defiantly where this site is lacking! And I know I wouldn't stay here again purely because of this fact. Campsites I have stayed at in the past have had large outside play areas as well as indoor softplay which was great for our British Summer. These campsites were also working farms and actually cheaper to stay with. This really needs to be addressed as I am sure I am not the only one to think this.

Great stay

Chris L,
Second time we have stopped here and really enjoyed it again. Friendly staff are easy going and take time to speak to you. Toilet blocks are clean, there's a freezer for people to use and washing machines if you need them. Located about 30minutes walk from seahouses centre so you don't have to drive if you don't want to. It also has great views of the farns My son wants to go back for a third time next year.

Family get together

Caroline B,
Our second time at the wigwams and we had a fab time. Other family members stayed in the bunkhouse which was also fab. Most of the staff are very friendly. Facilities for wigwams and bunkhouse are great, clean modern and the kitchens well equipped and tidy. I wouldn't want to have to use the campsite facilities as we had to once whilst the others were being cleaned - definitely in need of modernisation. We will be back.

Nice site for a campervan with dog

annabarnowl, Nottingham
We stayed here for 3 nights with our dog and campervan on hardstanding with electric hookup. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the site extremely clean, nicely laid out with good amounts of space between pitches. The location is excellent for day trips out to Bamburgh Castle, beaches, Holy Island and Berwick or Alnwick, and is only 1 mile walk away from Seahouses. The site is a mix of tents, touring caravans/ campervans and wooden 'Wigwam' huts with free Wifi, drying room, microwave, toilets & showers, the usual water points and waste disposal. The amenities are indeed a bit basic, but you get what you pay for - yes, there are not enough showers, but get up a bit earlier than normal and you'll have no problem. There were plenty of well behaved dogs on leads and kids running round having a whale of a time on the play park - the setting was really pleasant. Points to consider before booking though; *Try and get a pitch away from the main reception/ loo's - we were pitched right in front and felt like we were being spectated on by the people up on the balcony accommodation above the shop. *DOG OWNERS - Thoroughly recommend this site for dogs - However, just be slightly cautious if you get up early in the morning for a quick doggy loo-walk - This is a working farm and there are working collies living on the farm site within the property, one of which was wandering round early in the morning on the path near to the camping pitches towards the loo entrance and he was NOT friendly. To note: I think this was a one-off though as they had always been with a person on a quad bike previously. It's natural for working collies to be territorial, so just keep your eyes peeled and walk the other way if you see one on it's own when walking your dog. *To THE OWNERS - Lovely place - Thank you. Please though, would recommend that you consider removing the 'fire pits' use on site - just not necessary and the thick, damp wood-smoke got a bit sickening in the evenings for both ourselves and several other guests we spoke to. Cheers.

Lovely stay

Josie H,
We have just returned from staying three nights in a room at the Lookout at Springhill Farm. Our bedroom was basic with two twin beds (which could be pushed together if needed) and bunk beds. All the beds were fitted with fresh sheets. The shower room was large, clean and lots of hot water. We also paid the extra fiver to hire bedding which wasn't there when we arrived and Reception was closed. We rang the warden and it arrived thirty minutes later, fresh and clean with an apology and consisted of pillows, duvets and big fluffy white towels. The communal kitchen was fine with plenty of equipment. We were fortunate to have fantastic weather and loved our view of Bamburgh Castle at sunset!
