Well worth a visit

We came across The Boatside last year while staying in Hexham, had a lovely meal and decided to return a few weeks ago to stay in one of their self catering cottages. What a wonderfully relaxing week we've had - the cottage had everything we could possibly need to make our stay comfortable, was spotlessly clean and the owners were extremely friendly and welcoming. We ate in the restaurant several times and can honestly say that the food is delicious and the staff very friendly and efficient. When our week was over we didn't want to leave and hope to return again in the not too distant future.
Very busy Sunday lunchtime and still lunch was lovely!

We weren't sure if we would get in as hadn't booked but decided to try anyway. The restaurant was very busy but we were found a table for 2 almost immediately. We both chose Roast Pork and the whole dinner was very tasty, well presented and with ample servings. The staff were pleasant and the service was quick....I would definitely recommend The Boatside.....can't think of anything negative to say....lovely Sunday lunch!
Great service and lovely food
We had a lovely meal , it was really tasty and generous portions . My fussy sister said it was the best meal she has had in a long time, she loved the fish pie! Service was great your waitress is a joy. Thank you we will be back.

Was in the area and had researched places to have lunch beforehand. Picked The Boatside mainly as we could take our dog and eat in the bar. The bar is actually like a dining room in any case, which was a pleasant surprise. The menu is extensive, and the full menu is served at both lunchtime and dinner, which is good. The food was excellent, as was the service. The entire place seems spotlessly clean and despite being busy, it was a relaxing atmosphere. Special mention to the tall young guy who was behind the bar and serving tables, very polite, helpful etc. :)
A pub at the end of a walk

We visited the boat in whilst walking in Hexham. A very warm welcome. Plenty of parking spaces. Lovely outdoor beer garden and children's play area. Inside beautiful decorated. Spotlessly clean toilets. The menu has something to please everyone meal prices for main meals approx £12.00 but worth it.
