Surrounded by woodland trails, open moors and miles of unspoilt country-side the Lord Crewe Arms Hotel has a tradition of welcoming travellers from far and wide. Whether you visit for business or pleasure our warm hospitality and stylish comfort will have you returning time and time again. It’s our local charm, idyllic and extremely picturesque location that makes the hotel a delightful place in which to stay and use as a base to explore this fantastic part of the country. Situated in the heart of the picturesque village of Blanchland, one of only six listed villages in the country, and surrounded by woodland trails and open moors of the Upper Derwent Valley the location is ideal for the pursuit of several outdoor activities including sailing & fishing on the Derwent reservoir, clay pigeon shooting and of course walking, with 9 different routes on the doorstep of the hotel. The location also provides an excellent touring base for the North East with attractions including Hadrian’s Wall, Durham University, Durham Castle and Cragside all within 30 minutes drive away.
