Take in the picturesque surroundings of the Northumberland coast and enjoy the county’s countryside paths and bracing walks as well as further afield dog friendly beaches this Winter, before returning for a hearty locally produced festive meal. 

The Good Hotel Guide has recognised that St Mary’s Inn has forged many excellent links with local suppliers offering fantastic food and events that have established the property in the local community. From the 1st – 24th December, diners will enjoy traditional Christmas fayre at St Mary’s Inn. Perhaps choose to dine within a cosy snug warm by the fire or for livelier ambience, guests should join in the frivolities and select the main dining room!

One Course from £13.50 pp – Two Courses from £18.50 pp – Three Courses from £22.50 per person.

Christmas Afternoon Teas are also available from £14.95 per person. Guests are encouraged to indulge in a selection of festive crustless sandwiches, a choice of delicious and gooey, yummy cakes all delicately served on our stylish platters. If fit to burst – take your fancies home with you! 

The Good Hotel Guide prides itself on seeking out the top hotels across the country and with St Mary’s Inn they have found a real hidden gem in the Northumberland countryside. Opened in November 2014, its first year has been very successful, recently also being named by The Times as one of ‘25 Best New Restaurants’!

Further cause for celebration is the fact that Phil Beatty, having joined St Mary’s Inn as Assistant Manager, has been promoted to Inn Manager. Phil is a local person that knows the area well, having worked extensively at other nearby establishments. Wishing to remain in the area but with a desire to seek new challenges and having long admired the Jesmond Dene House family (of which St Mary’s Inn is the sister pub) Phil joined the inn when it opened after extensive refurbishment, a year ago. Moving forward, he now heads up the warm and friendly team who provide quality cuisine with an attentive service and they look forward to building on this endeavour.

Also this December there is also the option of dining within the inn’s spacious private dining room. With its own wood burner and a large table, decorated with cheerful festive décor – come and celebrate Christmas with loved ones at St Mary’s!

From £30 per person, includes: a sumptuous 3-course festive menu, Christmas crackers and hire of the private room.

One particularly special date for the diary, is the St Mary’s Inn, Carol Singing Concert, taking place on the evening of 17th December from 6.00pm. Enjoy warmth and cheer with mulled wine and much loved Christmas carols.

After much merriment, the time comes to relax and retire for the evening. St Mary’s Inn has 11 large and spacious en-suite bedrooms with queen or king beds– including one with disabled access - all located on the first floor. Each has its own identity and is fitted with handpicked furniture sourced from around the country. 

The luxury pub with rooms offers the spacious, light and airy Whittle Dene room to those travelling with their dog. They’ll enjoy a cosy blanket, a much coveted bag of treats, as well as a water and food bowl to make them feel at home.      

Christmas really is the perfect time of year to cosy up at St Mary’s Inn, from 1st – 23rd December, the pub with rooms offers guests staying overnight, 2-course dinner from their delicious festive menu with a fabulous Northumbrian breakfast to enjoy the following morning.

Standard and Deluxe bedrooms from £80-£140 per night on a B&B basis, double occupancy.
